We are just the type of club to have our future discussed over a ****ing Chicken Tikka. Shows Mike's moving up in the world though, it would have been next to a roadside burger van in days gone by.
If I were negotiating with Staveley i’d Propose a pump off. Basically first one to cum has to accept the others proposal. I’d prepare by watching snooker and country file and also researching Persian rugs from 1400-1451.
Trying to seek light at the end of this decade long tunnel I've heard - tenuously - that the deal was more or less finalised the other night, which was why Richard Desmond was so elated. It is claimed that the legal paperwork, which can take a week or more, is in process so we may actually have an announcement by Weds night. Don't shoot the messenger - not that there's any bullets left, thanks to Windy's "Summer surprise" and ACS's "November sale".
Even more intersting is Rafa saying we should have some news after the Everton game: http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/spor...fa-benitez-makes-intriguing-takeover-14028410
Let's hope so!!! I am starting to feel like we will have the money to spend in January regardless if it looks like the takeover will be drawn out past the window a la City with their takeover. The lack of media reports is a GOOD thing as neither side wants details in public so I'm praying no news recently since the Indian get together is good news.
I’m gonna be negative and say..... It won’t happen. We will lose against Everton. We will get relegated. And Staveley will take over the mackems.... You heard it here first!
Again, allegedly, Newcastle takeover is to be announced - actually announced, for the atmosphere - before the Everton game. Claims the sale has been agreed for 320m plus an added 15m payment directly to MASH if we make it into Europe next season. Needs to go for premier league vetting checks that take roughly 4 weeks but Rafa will have 100m plus to spend in January.
Believe it when I see it although Staveley and Ashley meeting last week has raised my optimism something may happen sooner rather than later. Hope whoever is funding the thing wants to pay for success on the pitch as a hobby rather than try to use the club for advertising or profit.
