I don't think they have. They've been relegated twice recently, so they don't always get out of it. They're no more than a yoyo club now. The only thing that will save them this season, is a takeover. That does look likely, so I'd imagine they'll be safe. If it doesn't though...
I agree on the gaffer, and the heart is there, but they are **** up top and will go down bottom. 2 from Swansea, Toon, WBA and Stoke, Stoke have a lot of quality and WBA have genuine experience. They are in the **** for sure. I think they’ll stay up mind I have to say.
I think Swansea will be one that goes down, losing Llorente and Sigurdsson has hit them hard. Can see Palace being another, they look dodgy to me and I don't rate Hodgson. Huddersfield will struggle but I think they'll stay up by the skin of their teeth. I think the third team to go down will be Brighton or Newcastle. Stoke, West Ham and West Brom are all too good to go down I reckon.
That's a massive shout, mate. I think they'll keep plugging away picking up points and won't go down. There's a good bet for you, if you really believe they'll finish bottom.
Not confident at all chaps. Anything can happen, I guess, but it looks massively bleak. I wonder what the odds are on a double NE relegation?
I dunno but I'd say we have a similar chance of staying up. If neither of us strengthen in January we could both be down. Which would piss me right off in our case because the standard in the championship is ****.
The standard is awful, it shouldn't be THAT hard of a league to get out of for a club of our size and stature. We are just awful. I think Newcastle have a far higher chance of being relegated than we do mind.
You're probably right because if we can just stop being dogshit for five minutes and win a few games we'll shoot up the table and be safe. In the prem you can play well and still get soundly beaten but just not being crap suffices in our league. Hopefully Coleman can deliver that with our squad, I think he probably can.
I'm still not convinced he's the right man for our future, but I do think he's adequate and solid enough for the time being. He'll slowly pull us away from the bottom with his organisation and the little bit of quality that we know we've got, should pull us clear. I don't think we'll get any higher than mid-table, but I don't think we'll have anything to worry about going into the last 4 or 5 games.
Everybody get ready for a Newcastle invasion on here. They're reportedly going to announce the takeover within 48 hours and the word on the street is Rafa will get 100 million to spend in January.
They're not going to sugar daddy them, they'll be on the level of most of the league. Look at the money the bottom 4 have spent. Of course it'll be aspirations of breaking the top 6 and champions league in their head. It will be nice big budgets for the first two windows then they'll be spending similar amounts to their mid-bottom table rivals.
Yeah, I agree. What the money will PROBABLY do is highly likely pull them away to safety and consolidate them in that league. I've already seen a couple of their fans comparing this takeover, to the Man City takeover
Nowt like a man city take over. And as Stoke palace and West Ham are showing isn't really a thing, any team of around 15 can find themselves in relegation battles regardless of amount spent and on paper quality of players brought in. The mags themselves have been relegated twice with much better squads. They're just not going to spend enough money to elevate them where they want/think. 100m will not plug all their weaknesses. It will give them a better chance of staying up no doubt and they'll be in better shape but it's not going to catapult em to greatness.
