Yeah, I think we are singing off the same hymn sheet. I keep mine low through training the plant, but the odd branch will stretch and then I just whip it down so it's an even canopy.
Sorry , I thought we were the softies . Last time i went to the stadium of light , it was - 100 - C and I was in my Mankini !
Fcuk me! What a bunch of effeminate tree huggers you lot are! The only gardening I expect any of you is good at is of the “up hill” variety.
Have a small orchad which has apple, pear, quince and a single plum tree. I guess in total it's around 15 trees, all fully mature. Other than pick up the fallen fruit (because someone once said it helps avoid diseases to the tress) I do very little else.
I think there part of the pear family (they look a bit like a pear, yellow skin colour). Unlike apples and pears you can't eat them raw. Family and friends take them and make jam etc. but my missus is not much of a cook, she burns water, so we don't do anything with them.
please log in to view this image just looked, you can eat raw, but they are to hard, thats why people make them into jam. all they are good for it seems.
You can buy it in little packs after it's been made into a hard jelly. Lovely eaten with a full bodied cheese like Manchego
