His role is important. Yes. It's definitely not all about the people that score the goal in the end.

But I view it this way. If we lost, Salah, Mané, or Coutinho, how likely would we be to find an equal or better replacement? Realistically, we wouldn't. We would end up with a Stuart Downing quality player.

If we lost Firm, yeah, he's a good player, but he fills a role that's a lot easier to replace. Maybe we'd get someone a slightly worse or a slightly better... But it wouldn't impact our squad as deleteriously as losing Mané or Salah. Yeah, you need someone like him who can tee up the stars and be a threat to worry their defence at the same time, but I don't think he is the stand out player in the league at that

Firmino is the type of player that is still effective when having a poor game

It should be noted that the only decent season Rodgers had with his lineup involved no European football at all and out of the cups early, allowing Sturridge and everybody else to stay fit. Rodgers only used 13 players that season, so not really a valid comparison.

I think the game at the weekend kinda showed how important Firmino can be. His movement causes problems for defenders and space for others.

Solanke didn’t play poorly and there was some nice link up play. But Firmino has immense game intelligence.

It's not just his offensive movement, it's his defensive work that sets him apart. He's usually the catalyst for counter attacks or possession changeover in the opposition half. Just like Lallana ;)

    good players turn up.

it depends on competenace of recruiters and who demands what

Its only 3 years since squarez ****ed off and here is salah who we tried to buy and got on second time round.

Why should we assume that we would end up with downing? that was dalglish and comolli.

    Rogers bought ****e too

thus far klopp has got mane and salah.. hes taken two brazilians in firmino and coutinho and developed their roles.

2 years ago.. ings, balotelli, lambert, borini and sturridge were out strikers!!!!

I know its a boom or bust LFC cycle but there no reason why we should all fall to bits the moment klopp leaves... bar of course michael edwards :)
