Im not taking sides and I'm not looking for a row. No ones winding you up either. Calm yourself down mate for the good of the board
So seriously I assumed you weren’t going to the QPR game and just wanted to imagine me trying to get matey with some 30 stone weightlifting QPR fan
He wont understand the conversation that just took place so not a problem. Anyway you can tell me... why did you really stand up 2020? #isheamunter
FFS, it never ends. "and Viera in midfield can chip in from time to time". Not a whiff of a mention of the 5 goals that Phillips has already scored, far less those that he, too, might 'chip in'. 20 goals a season striker? Let's also look at the strikers we've already got. Using the link that Ristac provided, we find that Roofe scores every 154 minutes, and Lasogga every 162 minutes. Doesn't mean a great deal until you extrapolate it all out (excludes FA Cup, btw). Matches remaining: 25 Minutes remaining: 25 x 90 = 2250 Lasogga potential goal tally: 2250/162 = 14. Add 5 already scored & total is 19. Roofe potential goal tally: 2250/154 = 15. Add 9 already scored & total is 24. Interesting. So we've already got 2 '20 goals a season strikers' with 'proven Championship experience'. Very interesting. Very, very interesting. Using the same method, I'll briefly add in a few others: Saiz: 2250/190 = 12. Add 9 = 21 Alioski: 2250/294 = 8. Add 5 = 13 Phillips: 2250/354 = 6. Add 5 = 11 Hernandez: 2250/328 = 7. Add 4 = 11 Dallas: 2250/193 = 12. Add 2 = 14 Now I'm not suggesting that everyone will reach his full potential. I'm simply pointing out that perhaps we should be careful what we wish for. I keep hearing that we need players 'with proven Championship experience'. That worries me a little. We have found a system that works well, with the occasional blip (I am referring to the non-Lonners matches). Why do we want to change that? We're scoring more than we've ever scored with this system - and gaining a lot more points with it too (remember, I said non-Lonners games). In fact, let's look at the goalscoring situation compared to the last 3 seasons: 2014/15: scored 24 at this stage, 61 at end of season. 2015/16: scored 21 at this stage, 50 at end of season. 2016/17: scored 25 at this stage, 50 at end of season. 2017/18: scored 33 so far, extrapolated out is 72 for end of season (just in case it passes you by, this represents a 44% increase!) Not too bad, is it? So what if we do sign a striker or midfielder or whatever 'with Championship experience'? Will they fit in? We're very good at signing players in this category that turn out to be abject failures. Need I mention Kebe et al? Pretty sure we've each got a list as long as our arms of such failures. So, put it another way - how many January signings have we made that have been a huge success? Did they score a lot of goals? Boss midfield? Fit in to our system seamlessly? Hmmm. Bottom line, I think TC is not far from the truth when he says he's happy with his squad. Publicly, that is. I'm sure he's not 100% privately, but he has harmony & good morale - why destroy it by adding fuel to the 'must sign in January' fire? I don't believe that there will be many 'supermen' available in January at reasonable prices anyway, so I really don't expect any to be signed. And tbh, I don't know if I do want any more signed, perhaps the exception being some cover at LB. EDIT: Should have read 44%, not 54%. Oops! Now corrected. Actually, I'm chuckling that no-one noticed.
Excellent stuff mate, now re run those numbers with Felix in the team So far there are a few decent team in this league but only 1 outstanding team in Wolves. We normally see a couple of front runners drop out and a chaser manage to get in. On present average form (Great to start, then crap, now getting better) I think we are good enough for top 6 with the present squad. I still beleieve we can be too predictable and need to try a 4-4-2 and a 3-5-2. You can fit Lassoga and Roofe in that, or indeed a Ekuban with Roofe. we dont have a solid 4 though in the middle
he was no Shilton why do you think Clough wanted him at Leeds when he came, instead he bought him for Forest and they won the European Cup
That was purely because he hated Leeds and wanted his own players in, you will be saying O'Hare and McGovern were bought in because they were better than Giles and Bremner next. Give your head a shake.
Which bits are lies... I am working on the theory you have spent months winding the poor bloke up with half truths and conspiracy theories and all because you failed to usurp our mods.
I agree Leeds deserved to win more trophies than they did , but the reason they didn't was not because they leaked goals. I believe every game was a cup tie and they were in competition for everything until the back end of the season every year and were knackered at the push. People like Alan Hardaker and Ray Tinkler didn't help.
