11 points is non recoverable, I hoped that Man U would do it to keep the race alive, I hope Man City go on to do an invincible’s now
I think it probably is done and dusted now, they've got so many quality players in the squad that if they go through a slump they've got options to fall back on. Can't see them having a squad wide meltdown to throw the title away.
Keegan was 11 up. But that was March. City will probably win by 20-25 points this season. How is that good for the PL?
Their fixture list is dead jammy too this second half of the season, they never face top teams in clumps so there's no chance at all of handing them a damaging month to close the gap. Top teams are going to have to just try and keep up, take points off them as they face em and hope teams lower down the league manage to nick three points of them here and there. Looks like they've won it to me. Like has been said, the whole squad would have to implode and it ain't happening.
Pep got found out last year so bought the title. Mourinho will whip the cheque book out to try and have a go next season. Can see Utd and City pulling away from the pack over the next few years. Ambramivic seems to have changed tact with player recruitment at Chelsea and they aren't as extravagant as his early years. I can't see Conte being there next season either so a season of transition for them. Liverpool and Arsenal won't win the league in my lifetime. Spurs seem to have a glass ceiling they can' break through, bit like the mags in the 90's.
All it takes is money Parker. You've pretty much said that yourself. No reason why 'Pool, Arsenal or any club can't do it in the next few years. All it takes is a bottomless cheque account.
Spurs might compete when they get in the new stadium, Arsenal could if they had the balls to change the gaffer. As it stands the 2 Manchester’s will dominate, City’s wobble was grinding out late winners, the team is close to flawless, the best in Europe this year. United won’t let them dominate for years, they will keep on investing to close gap, but this City team is as good as the PL has seen. No way is 11 points being overturned, City need to lose 4 games and United to win every game? No, no chance.
If City annihilate the league, breaking the records, could be a step towards people (me for one) losing interest. We'll probably see a manager who last year comfortably won the title with a record 30 wins, (record points?)being sacked because he now only came 2nd or 3rd.
League has gone for sure. What we think about Pep then, is he this tactical genius or has he bought the league?
I always had him as a fraud, but he learned fast from last season, added English players and changed the approach of the team. I certainly now rate him as one of the worlds best, he looked beaten several times last year but he ****ing nailed it.
As well as improving, John Stones, Raheem Stirling, Kevin De Bruyne, Nicolas Otamendi. He hasn't just bought any old player and chucked them into a team. He's using HIS formations, HIS tactics. He's proving this season that he really is the best in the business. Any idea when Man Utd last bought a player and didn't spend at least 25 million on them?
The more I’ve seen of him this year the more he impresses me. The Bayern job doesn’t bother me so much because anyone who manages them walks the league. Have you seen the video of him training Sterling? Looks like someone on social media made it and it’s quality. Can tell Sterling is head and shoulders above the player he even was last season. He’s managing in the toughest league in the world and he’s shown he can adapt too even from last season.
That’s what’s impressive mate, Barca, Bayern, he had ready made teams and I didn’t buy it, last season way short. Thing was, they did their business early, did the wing backs, developed players, as you say Sterling is the shining light of this, he’s been sensational, but changing the shape of midfield to free up de Bryne, masterstroke. The improvement in Stones and Otamendi also, unrecognisable as players, he’s bought, sure. The players only cost what they did because it was City. Facts are they were close to perfect buys. Walker hasn’t been at his best but he absolute compliments the midfield, Mendy is sensational and he’s to come back, the goalkeeper looks world class and is still improving. The balancing of Jesus and Aguero as well? He’s doing everything right, thisbis the hardest league to win, with a superb United team innit as well and they are bossing it.
I don't understand this, at all. If Man City have a fantastic season and break a couple of records along the way, you would lose interest? Why? Records are there to be broken and do get broken. I'm loving seeing what Pep has brought to the Premiership, his style of football is outstanding and I'm the first to tune into their games now. I can't get my head around how seeing a super talented football club, with a super talented manager, can put you off football. Would you rather everybody just had an average team, playing average football?
First off I don't like him much and neither do I enjoy watching the tip tapping style of football where nobody will shoot unless they're less than four inches away from the goal. It's better than watching crap obviously but I find it tiresome and frustrating. However he's doing a great job with them and for the first time since they became wealthy they've got a manager who has united the entire club. I think no matter how much other teams spend they'll struggle to keep up with City for that reason. If he stays with them I think they'll be nigh on untouchable, although they're still noobs in Europe.
Yeah, fair comment, I see what uou’re saying and I don’t mind seeing football at it’s talented best. It’s more the idea of a one horse race being won by whoever has just spent the biggest money ( acknowledge that you still need a good manager) that I don’t like
Yeah, I get that you probably feel more and more out of touch with football. I think we all do in some sort of way. I don't think Man City winning the league will be down to them spending the most money. I'm guessing here, but I think they spent the most money last season, too. We saw a couple of seasons ago that Leicester spent pennies and created the biggest shock English football has ever seen. That was against big spenders. Money guarantees nothing. Keep the faith, mate.
