Fair result on balance just. Sending off affected the game probably. We defended well with 10 so that's a plus. One thing this is that we are playing as a team, giving 100% and it's bloody entertaining, even when we don't get a result. Thanks for your company guys, see you Tuesday.
Cheers all. No comment - need time to resee that one. As predicted bottom of table rolling up. Lots of nervous teams down there. Let's hope, and I expect we will, stay out of the snake pit. Enjoy
Keown and Kilbane reckoned no red card but both disallowed goals should have stood. Not a great day by the sound of it.
Didn't show the penalty incident (ours anyway!) Red card was unlucky as he slipped over/went to ground and then made contact high on the leg as a result - not helped by the reaction of the Burnley players! Offside goals were irrelevant anyway .
I'm beginning to think football is a lottery. The sending-off was (apparently - according some experts) debatable , although not according to others.Either way, it completely changed the complexion of the game. From my view and from the TV replays, it was not cynical or malicious, and certainly didn't appear to affect the'injured' player - as he was able to continue - without treatment !. We lose Zegeelaar for 3 games. Bardsley's tackle on Richarlison was blatant, cynical and potentially dangerous. It was in no way a misjudgment. Yellow card - inconsequential. This is not to blame Probert - he abides by his rules. Somewhere we have lost any sense of balance or honesty. From what I have seen this season, Burnley are effective, workmanlike, purposeful, unexciting. (Missing Brady is significant, and Pope for heaton is impressive). I will be astonished if we finish below them - partly 'cos of what I have said below. We have thrown away 9 points this season (Chelsea, Everton (6) + 2 against Brighton and at least 1 yesterday). So, wow(!) WE ARE THE BEES KNEES! Separately, another thread possibly, the limit on 25 players in a squad - intended I assume to help 'smaller' clubs, is actually counter-productive. According to 'physical injuries.com' as reported by Hertfordshire mercury, we have suffered TWICE the injury days of any other Premier league club (>400, next is 200) The limit on 25 players reduces a clubs ability to compete. If we assume that having injuries is 'unlucky' nevertheless, the effect is significant.
I've been to Vegas twice.... rained both times - first time was so torrential we saw three overturned cars on the highway in from LA. As you say, the locals can't seem to handle the adverse conditions. I left my car at home and took the train into work today...
Yup the problem is folk don't think, They just say they have to get to work, end of, whereas the sensible decision is to not to go to work (there are exceptions obviously), or to leave going to work until all the idiots have sat in their freezing cars for 3 hours. The other problem has already been mentioned, they don't know how to drive in the stuff, which takes practice.
