Well said mate we were lucky as hell to get a point today none of us are blind enough to say otherwise...
Doesn't mean we're not allowed to express an opinion on it though. Because it's common practice doesn't make it acceptable. The rule-makers have been tinkering for years to try and find ways to deal with it, but if the current culture declares its acceptance - or even admiration - of it then they will fail. Note that I haven't tried to blame our performance on that one incident, but it's just something I hate and will never accept. I don't like cheating in any form and it just annoys me when people get away with it. It's our own fault we didn't win - it usually is. I don't entirely agree with your last sentence either, but I can't be bothered. It's done and over with. We all know Lovren isn't good enough, but it's too easy to blame him as well.
Last season Mane was our best forward, this year Salah is, but Mane do not want to be in the shadow of Salah. Mane must learn how to play as a member of a team.
I've not read the thread mate so no idea what your stance is. Just saw the usually "Blame the ref" or "blame the cheating opposition" comments that usually pop up on this board rather than accepting our own downfalls. Lovren gave them the penalty. It was his mistake. Doesn't matter what else happened.
I think you are right Saint in terms of "is this a contact sport". Either it is and this type of thing gets laughed at by refs or it isn't and it goes the way of Hockey and quite frankly it becomes a technical nerd viewing (Sorry @RogerisontheHunt lol) I played hockey so I'll still watch it but it's not a general spectator sport anymore from the sideline. And....it involves a stick....how you make a body to body sport non contact without killing it I don't know...
Yes..... he needs to learn he'll get just as many goals if he does what the rest did in his absence. Suarez had a similar problem before the big season... once he stopped thinking he had to do it....everyone benefited
I said Mané takes more of the blame than Lovren, imo. Lovren didn't "give" them the penalty, he was done by a smart move that I happen to call cheating. Mané made a really bad error of judgement because he wanted it more for himself than the team.
We are fighting for 2nd or 3rd or 4th now. Manchester city are going to be crowed champion. No one can catch them.
For me, the game is ruined by players falling over any time anyone touches them. And before anyone accuses me of bias again, I've been consistent on this point of view for my entire time on this board.
No guarantees we would have scored from that had he passed. All Astro is doing is pointing out that he thinks the penalty decision is what costs us the points.
dribs.... we were fighting for 4th at best anyway. 2nd was never on. we have not done enough to get that.
