Well as mentioned on here numerous times Hull fans love a nice scape goat. But am i the only one who can not see what he has actually done wrong. Yes he may not have being brilliant at times but i am struggling to find a goal that has come from a Hobbs mistake this season, not one against Leeds can really be attributed to him, neither can Palace's or Blackpool's. Macclesfield one was offside, and the other admitedly he got outpaced, so in one league cup game he got out paced. Is that all this having a go at him is about?

Well then again he has being made captain so more of a reason to jump on his back. We have had one of the greatest captain's of all time in Ashbee there is no point judging people against him as they won't be able to compete.

Then there is his distribution, which on a whole is not that bad. Just when he is made to play 50 yard balls he gets them wrong, he is a centre half thats not his job. I doubt many players could do a better job than he has for us there, the midfields job is to open up defence no bloody Jack Hobbs.

    rant over.

No, he's genuinely just ****, and shouldn't be captain. One clean sheet when he's started is all you need to know really.

He won't go for the ball, it has to come to his feet before he'll act, then when he does get it, he can't do anything with it. Chester was practically playing on his own last Saturday, one moment stands out in my mind where Chester had to run across and get rid of the ball because Hobbs was just stood there staring at it like he'd never seen a football before.

He's an appalling football player, and I can't believe we pissed away nearly our full transfer budget on him.

By that logic we have had one clean sheet with Chester, Rosenior and Dugeon so by that logic they are all poor......

Chester and him are by far good enough for th level that we are at. We have more pressing issues further up the field, we have the need to sign a back up centre half no more than that.

I meant since he came in January. That's a poor record.

Agreed, all we need is new backup CB, to cover Macca and Chester <ok>

I think part of the problem is that he is CLEARLY not as good as the centrebacks we didn't sign. So people a inevitably dissatisfied as they continually compare him to them.

It's a bit like once you've had caviar why would you ever again be satisfied with cod roe?

From my Calculations clean sheets since Hobbs arrived: Derby away, Coventry away, Forest away, Ipswich away, thats four......

I agree Gerrard would be a class above him, don't get me wrong on that one. However this season Hobbs has not performed badly, and we shouldn't compare him to Gerrard as lets be honest we have no chance of getting him back. People should give him a chance.

I guess i am just frustrated at being four games in and listening to all this moaning.

I think Strovolos has it right, he's being compared to Ayala and Gerrard and he isn't as good, in fact, he doesn't even seem to be as good as the Hobbs we had last season.

He's not alone, the team doesn't seem to have gelled and Evans doesn't look as good as he did last season either.

I hope he comes good and I don't think he's really been a scapegoat, certainly not in the way Harper was last season and Macca the season before, he just looks the weak link in defence at the moment.

He played about 8 minutes against Derby, 52 minutes against Coventry and 12 against Forest.

He only started against Ipswich, which is what I said earlier.

Well we have won 1 and lost 3 after a very promising season last year so a bit of moaning is understandable. Also, most people will be disappointed with our lack of signings.

I think Hobbs is probably a bit of a scapegoat but that is tempered by the fact he isn't as good as we had been tempted into believing we might have had (Ayala and/or Gerrard)

We could be top with four 4-0 wins and Percky would be moaning ! Still im not convinced with Hobbs yet either.Let's give him a chance though.

I think there's more than that, Lambo. Rosenior doesn't seem anywhere near on his A game (although he did quite well against Palace) and Fryatt has been at least a yard slower than he was at the end of last season (I reckon he's missed 4 one-on-ones now)

We're missing Gerrards steadying influence, Hobbs is a decent enough player but he's lacking confidence. Don't get me started on my pet hate of scapegoating again, City fans will always do this no matter what happens, unfortunately it looks like Harper has passed the scapegoat armband to Hobbs/Mckenna this season.

Last two games I have to agree, and I blame the managers tactics/ motivation of the players for this. I'm not an extremist like you though Percy as I think Pearson can turn things around.

What on earth are you going on about now ?

Chester was ****ing awful on Saturday , Dudgeon was even worse .

I take you off my ignore list for one day and this happens .

Just out of interest Perry have you ever played football to a decent standard ?
I reckon you're a specky , lanky student who has two left feet . I appreciate the last comment is a bit uncalled for but you know I love a childish insult or two .

I'm not being argumentative , well I suppose I am , but you really have no idea about anything to do with football .

    Your opinions are laughable .

Agreed he knows nothing about football but I find his extreme viewpoints make for good debates, Hobbs is a good player, just short on confidence, a mistake to give him the armband I think.

I had trials at Blackburn when I was 13 but nothing really came of it, other than that, just Sunday league, that was when I could play, got a knee injury (The type people claim Bullard was "happy" to have) and had to stop playing that, now I play 5-a-side regularly but only ever play 20 mins of a 40 minute game so I can walk without discomfort the next morning.

Anyway... back on topic, yeah, Hobbs is ****e. Chester and Dudgeon didn't have great games, I'm not really defending them, but as I said, Chester's having to play the role of both CBs at the moment because Hobbs is just a waste of space. You say my opinions are laughable, but I'm more or less getting proved right every week.
