Fair enough, but given that we were not expecting to be promoted this year, when it might make sense to draft in a couple of those rare things, experienced players who actually try, it would have been sensationally negative to have had him other than for emergency cover - which obviously we now need, but he didn’t want that role as far as I understand it.
After all the endless hype about the Manchester derby throughout this week Sky could be left with nothing tomorrow as heavy snow is forecast for both Manchester and Liverpool through the weekend...
Have to say that I, for one, will be very disappointed if they don't go ahead. Really looking forward to both games.
Surely they can keep the pitches clear nowadays? I would imagine postponement would be due to fans travel concerns. Perhaps this will be the acid test of TV power, if the games go ahead in less than full stadia. Just read that Utd expect it to go ahead, and are encouraging fans to arrive early by having half price drinks at Old Trafford before kick off.
He's on fire at the moment, why's it taken the Southampton manager this long to figure out if you start him, and get crosses into the box, he's as sharp as anyone else in the league and will get goals?
Quote from Andy Cole on MotD2 Extra..."Mark Hughes has done well at every club he's been, I'm surprised he's in this position" - nearly splurted my tea all over the couch -
Enjoying watching Charlie in action. With 10 mins to play I hope Saints don't later regret not getting that 2nd goal.
Saints must feel gutted after that late Arsenal equalizer (one out of our playbook), hopefully it will not get worse.
No Coutinho or Firmino for Liverpool, if Everton get anything out of this game Klopp will get mega-stick...
