To be honest i dont mind him he has his views and not always seen eye to eye but it takes allsorts as they say.
Partly that was Sais fault but the real issue was he did not have people getting into positions for him. Just one player - Hernandez - added to that team and he’d have had more of an outlet. People who make out this team is no good are wrong, but squad is thin and when we lose one of the 11 we don’t always have a replacement. Problem 2 is we don’t have the right striker, unless one of them starts to prove me wrong
It was a lucky save from a half hearted attempt. He turned his back to the coming ball and the rebound landed into his hand.
Wakey for me we already have the fastest left back in the league but is ignored CBJ. He did actually make the bench though yesterday so maybe he as well as Cibicki are back in favor. Ekuban is now our Darren Anderton as he cant play more than 3 games without getting hurt. The same foot injured yesterday mean he wont be back until Late Feb early March so season over. 3 pre season games 1 goal out for 2 months, 3 league games no goals out for 2 months. Feel sorry for the guy as he looked the part except for end product. He had a golden chance again yesterday on top of the half dozen easier chances in earlier matches. Forget him for now, we need a good striker.
So reading through the various comments, most here believe we need quality strengthening in January, tc doesn’t agree at least publicly. I wonder is this the reason Cibicki got a run out. Does tc want to prove squad is good enough or otherwise to Orta and Rad. If we can have a decent upcoming four games, maybe 9 points, we’ll be close to playoff places. It would be a disgrace if we can’t strengthen sufficiently to scramble into them. There’s no real strong outfits in contention this year either apart from wolves. The rest all seem ordinary so far to be honest
Agree mate, the squad is weak, the bench these last 2 games a joke. No DM on the bench last week with no striker on the bench yesterday. Wow we were lucky that Roofe is a better striker than a winger and took his 3 chances brilliantly. 3 attempts all went in. Cibicki showed some class so deserves another chance so for me he should be in front of Dallas & Roofe on the flank. If the Roofe move had failed and we got beat Tommy would have been quite rightly slammed. Sick of seeing Grot on the bench but he was forgotten about yesterday? Serious question: If Grot had been on the bench he would have been brought on. Usually he gets a few minutes and looks like a powderpuff. Would having a good hour on the pitch give him time to show what he can do, or is he shyte? Its a squad game but even though we brought in loads of players Tommy shuffles a deck of 13 players even when out of form and ignores the rest. He said something telling yesterday he said: 'now we see some players who have gotten used to this league which adds to our options in the future' did he mean the cast offs are getting it now?
To be fair you call people out but arnt averse to getting to and sometimes overstepping the line. As a couple of examples you have made peado refererences about me twice. The first time I only found out cos someone complained about it and copied me into THEIR complaint. I dish it out and get on your tits so cant moan too much but there are lines we all have that others shouldn’t cross. I guess I crossed yours at some point.
I think it’s about confidence, when we had that awful slump we lacked a captain to lead by example, someone to go out and give 100%, someone to inspire the others, you would see so many heads drop after a mistake or goal conceded. TC has done the right thing, if he came out and said we need a keeper and striker then what would that say to those occupying those positions, it would spell out their time is up and their morale would take a knock. TC should be telling the players they ARE good enough and actually on our day we are. Alioski was on fire, he then looked like he wouldn’t make a DIV 1 team but recently he has hit form again. It’s a combination of team balance and confidence. Also... If TC said we are in desperate need of a striker you know when we make an enquiry to availability the price would shoot up £2m The other danger is missing out on January targets, you let the world and dog know that you’re looking to bring in a striker and fail due to wage demands, price or dodgy agent and we as fans are unforgiving and then the remainder of the season your relying on players who thought they were of no use. I have no doubt we will strengthen and I like the approach of keeping it quiet until the deal is done
Yes did seem subdued first half. Think that was the Christmas 'spirit'. Livened up during the halftime break and then the performance second half helped. Where you sat near the Leeds end opposite the dug-outs? There were three qpr wallies giving it large all game which was produced a bit of entertainment each half.
I thought my post was fair, pragmatic and constructive. Didn’t think we would win.. pleased we did. Five more wins and we are safe.
Personally I’m still on the fence about Tommy but we have to be fair, him as a coach and several players alike are all having to get used to this division, it probably isn’t like any of them expected. He see’s our best three defensive midfield players as O’Kane, Phillips and Vieira, we need two of those to be playing. I have no idea what position Klich is best suited but I understand why there is no space for him when you look at Saiz, Hernandez and Alioski in recent weeks. Cibiki has had a chance and probably grasped it, is he better than Alioski and a fit Hernandez because those are the only two positions up for him to grab. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, a team with 5 Saiz in midfield would get stuffed, it’s about getting the balance right. Let’s look at Cibicki and his inclusion in a more positive manner... He joined the club, Thomas spotted early doors he wasn’t ready for first team action so left him in the reserves training and getting used to the way we do things, he has worked hard and took his chance well after being well prepared. Just maybe, what if we’d played him when he first arrived and he performed like a Kebe or Barrow? We’d have slated him, his confidence would be shot and we would never have seen him again. Not aimed at anyone but let’s stop the “Thomas” has favourites theory and give him a little more credit. What if Klich has an attitude that stinks and Thomas has remained tough on him rather than upset morale? At the start of the season many said give him until January, not long to go but form wise and league position isn’t bad is it?
Morning all, Ristac, this all makes perfect sense to me. Good management and good man management skills.
I was opposite the dug outs but more towards the other end. Good view of Leeds section but some way off. It was a joy to hear the QPR fans around me. Wish I’d taped it. “Oh no he’s got the ball again, don’t let him play, foul him, stop him, oh no ..... why can’t we close down like Leeds” (about Sais in case you can’t guess)
