Everton go 11th with a loss by 7 goals, or if Southampton get a point against Arsenal

FYI on the snow thing. We've had fuc all worth worrying about today. It's raining/snowing at the moment in Liverpool the ground is wet and nothings sticking. Unless we get a freezing conditions tonight (it's 3deg at mo), there no chance anything will cause the game to be called off. Salty seaside atmosphere in Liverpool means it's going to have to be one serious blizzard tomorrow to have any chance of affecting the game

    Anfield Wrap preview:

HERE we go then. The big one. The derby. If there’s a better way to approach it than scoring 12 goals in two games, I’m not sure what it is.

More than any other game, it’s traditionally one where you have to be on it. At it. Ready. Liverpool are ready. We’re ready. Anfield will be ready.

Much has been made of Sam Allardyce masterminding a result; of him making Everton a much more difficult prospect.

But as Jürgen Klopp pointed out in his press conference today, he’s played Sam before. He knows about the tactics. He knows they will fight for second balls, will look to be a threat from set pieces. None of this is new. None of this is genius.

Allardyce has been parachuted into Goodison Park to fight fires. To make Everton safe. To get them away from the danger zone.

Hippo Head will never admit it, but when his chubby fingers gripped the pencil and he plotted the Bluenoses’ safety, he wasn't putting three points next to a trip to Anfield.

On Sunday we’ll remind them. You haven’t won here since 1999. You haven’t won a trophy since 1995.

Will it be the day it changes for them?

They’ll have a puncher’s chance in that anyone throwing a punch can connect and get lucky. But most times the fighter with the fists and the finesse wins out. The bookies make The Toffees 11-1 to stick it to Liverpool. Most Blues in Liverpool seem to be crying it in already.

Call it logic, blind faith, support or whatever you like. Liverpool – playing the football they are right now – are a difficult proposition for any team. Particularly at Anfield. Particularly with the crowd bang up for it.

Allardyce is many things. But how does he turn a defence that has conceded 28 goals in 15 goals into one that is keeping out an attack that's scored 32 in nine?

The Reds are coming up the hill, boys. The forecast is cold. Bitter, if you’re an Evertonian…

    arrogance and bluster.

trophies and prior games are totally irrelevant. performance is the only thing that matters.

Performance comes form attitude, application and ability. We've proved we have 3/4 forwards and that's exactly where everton fall down but Everton can put the work rate in and if they actually believe they can get the result then they can match us.

Our effort and our mindset needs to be spot on. 100% play it like we are playing utd

But then again. bookies regularly give sides coming to anfield a those kind of odds to attract business, I just want to see us show that we are fitter, better prepared, more willing and hungrier. If we do that then the forward skills SHOULD come into play... oh and a slice of luck with an early goal blowing their bus parking options would be quite nice.

Previous managers have been taken in by the Derby thing. Fighting fire with fire and going for every ball type of thing. Big Sam may not be swayed by all this. He would think the end justifies the means. Would he be bothered that LFC have 90% possession? On the attack for 85 minutes of the match? You bet he won't. Will he be bothered about critics giving him flak for a defensive display if he gets something? No. That makes him more dangerous than Moyes, Martinez and koeman and Unsworth. He will do anything to get that point. And that's why I feel we need to get that goal early.

We all remember what happened the last time we crushed one of our CL competitors :bandit:

We need to take advantage of Chelsea's slip. What happens between Southampton and Arsenal is not our business,

I'm assuming arsenal will win by 5 or 6 and with spirs winning already we need the win.

however a draw... not a disaster. we've done well enough recently that we could take that and move on and look to next match mid week.

Should be a nice skiddy pitch, plenty of rain and snow plus watering by ground staff. We got light snow flurries in Sth Liverpool, nothing that's going to cause much travel problems.

    Great news.....

An early goal for you lot and it could be a cricket score.

If we can keep you out for 25+ mins, then a game could break out
