My guess is, he was watch the vk stream with a bottle of vodka and a revolver. Any city player who did well he’d pretend to shoot. Meyler would have been ok. His og was a protest at the sluts sacking. A beautifully taken goal may I add. Unfortunately for Brentford Meyler went off injured, if it hadn’t been for this I suspected Brentford would have won 3.4 with Meyler sealing his hat trick with a bicycle kick from our penalty spot.
You've got a good side and I can see why your team has put together a good run of results. I think your manager is excellent and has your team playing the right way. Was that a standard Woods performance? He looks a very good and intelligent footballer, I thought he was one of the best players on the pitch and one of the most industrious midfield performances I have seen at the KC this season.
Was it Campbell there who did well making the right decision to let the ball run through for Irvine, you could describe it like an assist really, Irvine had the momentum and he didn't get in the way.
Cheers for that I wasn’t there as was at my daughter’s graduation ceremony for her Master’s Degree (that’ll be Mrs Tash’s brains she got!) Only managed to catch a bit on the Russian stream while we were sat in the hall waiting Meyler buried it didn’t he! If Dicko had been as decisive he’d have scored too Good result but sounds like Nigel didn’t get them going until second half. I suppose that’s more hopeful than the other way round though
He told them not to over exert in the first 45 Dennis and he knew they'd need the energy for the last 10 minute onslaught. A cover ploy as we just about had enough energy to hang on. Congrats on your daughter, but does she have the sense to be a City supporter too or did she by pass that gene...?
Woods...Was he the Jack Colback look-a-likey? Brentford and the Nylons do produce some decent players....A bit like Burnley of about 25 years ago.
Ok it fluctuates between bottom 3 and bottom 5! But our turnover is probably only not bettered by Burton this season. We make about a £12-15m loss each season in the championship hence why we had to sell our first choice RB, captain and star Spanish midfielder to Birmingham for a combined £12m on deadline day (worked out good for us, not for them mind!)
Good summary there. Ron Guv got his moneys worth. Eight minutes of injury time didn't help the nerves.
To be honest that was a below par performance by Woods and the whole team. You saw flashes of the fluid football but only created 10 shots on goal which is low for us. As a comparison a few weeks back we created 25 shots away at Cardiff (but still lost!) We can't stop bigger clubs coveting our players and it's accepted by most of our fans that we'll sell any player at the right price. Players also know that Brentford is a club where they can develop and move on to a bigger club/payday (like the Brum 3) Thought your defence were excellent yesterday and really neutered our attack. Toral's a frustrating talent. We had him on loan a couple of seasons back. Can have games like that and then be anonymous for several after.
We did that for years before moving to the KC and more. As popular as the Championship is too some, there is no real money in this league mate, hence the reason many of the better players won't hang around when a club goes back into it. Thanks for Micheal Turner btw,one of my favourite center halves, unfortunely our other Brentford purchase Odubajo gets injured every time he finds his form which a real pity because as both know he can be brilliant when fully fit.
Of course, this was still ahead of many other clubs, which might surprise some Brentford fans, as Benham noted, “The big myth of last season was the squad was run on a shoestring. In reality, the total first team budget was mid-table.”
You can read their accounts, they were bottom three on income and bottom five on wages paid in the last published accounts.
