How the atmosphere on here changes with a good win. Like Dave, I am bemused be the Vrancic situation. DF obviously rates him, and so, it seems, do many neutral observers, but you fans who actually see him have a different perspective. Maybe we fans don't know as much as we like to think we do

He is a £650k replacement for Howson and doesn't score defend or assist enough.

It's hardly a surprise the atmosphere here changes after a decent win, is it. Especially after several disappointing performances. Vrancic played ok today but runs hot and cold. Of course we don't know as much as we'd like because we only see them on match days, which haven't been great recently, have they.

    Conversation stopper.

I really must desist from putting out these contra opinions.

It's not like it's a forum or anything.

A good win changes the atmosphere everywhere. Especially when there hasn’t been a win or performance in 2 months.

So what do we take from the game, for me it's

Hoolahan's best position is arguably the bench or joining Martin playing with the U23

We looked a much better attacking team without Murphy. Yes I know he's scored a few goals this season, but at what cost to the chances of others in the team scoring.

We don't need a Tettey / Trybull combination in the midfield to win games.

Pritchard / Maddison can play well together and could form the nucleus of our midfield for the next few years and potentially be key to a decent promotion challenge next season.

For me I'd be happy to lose Hoolahan, Tettey & Murphy in the next / summer transfer window if it meant keeping Pritchard and Maddison. Unfortunatly there's no money in Hoolahan & Tettey other than reduction in wages and I'm not sure Murphy's value is increasing as the season goes on.

I don't think you'll find too many on this forum in disagreement with that!
I'd rather hang on to Tettey, who proved this season he can still do a job (especially if DF continues to play any 3 of Wessi, Maddison, Pritchard and Vrancic - leaves us incredibly lightweight) and get rid of proper serious ballast like Naismith and Jarvis.
And then I woke up, sadly......:(

I didn't mention Naismith or Jarvis cause I took those two going as a given.

I’ve been saying that since the end of last season, but the injury to AP hasn't helped.

We looked a much better attacking team without Murphy. Yes I know he's scored a few goals this season, but at what cost to the chances of others in the team scoring.
Josh appears to be going backwards IMO, much as Jacob did last season.

We don't need a Tettey / Trybull combination in the midfield to win games.
I’d like to see Trybull return and hopefully recapture some of the form he showed until just before he got injured

Pritchard / Maddison can play well together and could form the nucleus of our midfield for the next few years and potentially be key to a decent promotion challenge next season.
I’d love to see them both stay, but they are our most valuable/saleable players by some distance

    Nothing to add!!

I thought Hanley had a pretty decent game, but nowhere near MoM. I think you could make an argue for both Maddison & Pritchard for MoM. For me Maddison should have got it. As for Oliveira getting it why. I guess he score the penalty, that Reed won, but really does scoring a no pressure penalty in the last minute of a game we had already won really get you MoM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

According to the BBC the possession stats were Norwich 49% Sheffield Wed 51%

Seems like the less possession we have the better the result.

It's all very well having 60 / 70 % possession but clearly it's what you do with it that matters.

"Kick on, Nelson - There was no doubt who was going to take the match-sealing penalty when Harrison Reed tumbled under Barry Bannan’s challenge. The sure-footed finish from 12 yards demonstrated Oliveira in top gear is a quality operator."

What's he talking about match sealing penalty. The game was over whether he scored or not and as for the second sentence, what planet is he on. Oliveira had a decent game, but !!!!!!!!!!!!

He wasted some really easy chances. Really hope getting a goal lifts his confidence.

Good discussion. For me, Wes still has a role in home games, but Pritchard and Maddison are the future. Similarly, I think a Trybull-Tettey partnership suits away games, but Trybull-Reed or Trybull-Vrancic suits home games. Maddison seems to be enjoying a deeper role of late, so that's another possibility. DF seems to be keen on Jamal Lewis, who could be a LB option. Leeds will be a real test though.

He's on record as saying that Jamal Lewis WON'T be going out on loan in January (not sure about other months though!!)

Just seen MB's Player ratings -
    CanVOwls.jpg
Interesting that both Klose and JM got 8. As Jack said on TNC - Murphy shouldn't have been in the starting 11.
