Seen a few comments having a go at Meyler. I don't understand it. He did his job, to shield the back four, and did it well. We were certainly weaker when Irvine dropped in to his position.
Just my opinion, but he doesn't look himself, the play doesn't usually pass him by as much as it did today, he gave the ball away and generally looked a bit naff. Second half he improved, then he took a hit which might have had something to do with him losing focus. Toral replaced him and looked much better. That's the best I've seen Irvine play for us, he isn't a DM, it should have been Larsson dropping in as he's a better tackler of the ball.
We had a similar player many moons ago called Keith Edwards, missing all game then one chance and one goal.
Toral played wide right you can't compare hi to Meyler and his position. Toral looked ten times better than Aina that Is true. Think people are just looking for a scapegoat now henriksen isn't playing.
He isn't a scapegoat, I'm just saying what I saw. I'm trying to be as objective as possible, he didn't play well today in my opinion and hasn't played at the standard he set himself before for some time now. Since Ireland didn't qualify for the WC, funnily enough. Aina was also a bit poor, our final ball from wide wasn't good enough today. Bring back Omar.
I'd agree with that SA.... after Ireland qualified for the play offs, it was mentioned that someone might come in for him on the form he showed there... Since then.... !!!!
Question to those that might know... how many loan spots are we allowed ...?... we have 3 on loan now...?...
I think you can have 4, but loans from abroad still don't count and you can still only have 5 in a match day squad.
Nice to see a win in his first game, I'm already feeling more confident. I wanted Slutsky to succeed, but I don't think it was ever going to happen. It'll take a while, he's not going to work miracles, and we're not going to improve over night, but as someone else said, small steps and small improvements. UTT
Irrelevant really. No one tells our owners how many loans they can have in their business. The rest who have to follow the rules can have 8 loan players but only name 5 in a squad. There aresome other bits and pieces regarding numbers and emergency loans for keepers.
Didn’t see the game today unfortunately but sounds like Campbell had another good game. Even when he doesn’t score he does a lot for the team. What a great signing he’s been, player of the season for me so far.
He brings quality and energy every single week. Let's hope he gets a bit more service between now and May.
Just looked at the injury thread, we have 11 first team players (including Weir) that missed today's game. No wonder we're near the bottom end. Some of these have got to be back soon haven't they?
