The "says Eddie Jordan" makes we wonder but suprising news if true. I hope this truely is Bruno's big chance though. I had expected this but with Grosjean after the GP2 season finished.

Pointless to make it for one race. It'd be interesting to see how he'd stack up against Petrov for the rest of the season.

I'd just been looking at engine usage statistics on Viva F1 (http://www.vivaf1.com/reliability.php ) strangely they've updated that Senna will be driving this weekend, but haven't updated the engines for Hungary. Really confused me for a bit, not helped by the fact I thought NH was Nico Hulkenberg. :)

It says he is expected to race the rest. It will be hard for him with such little time in the car to make an impact in one race so i hope thats not the case.

Now we can really see what he has got. I don't believe his hype. Mifune is a big fan of his, but I don't think he is world championship material from what I have seen.

World Champion ability is a bit much yes, but does he deseve a decent F1 seat is a different matter. is Heidfeld world champion ability? Petrov?, Sutil?

Edit: Um is Petrov showing twice to everyone else. I only posted his name once you can quote me.

Well this is interesting! I thought Quick Nick was doing an ok job, in comparison with Petrov, so funding is likely to be the main reason, especially if Renault still aren't sure of their long term commitment to F1. Great chance for Senna, hopefully he'll be able to prove that he deserves the chance on merit, not his surname. Spa, as a drivers circuit, will be a big first test for him, and it'll be interesting to see whether he has the talent to keep up with Petrov. If he gets the seat for the rest of the season, other drivers circuits like Suzuka in a few races time might provide a good opportunity to see his talents compared to Petrov, when he's had a little time to settle into the car.

Is bringing in Senna also an admission by Renault that this season is dead to them? If you really thought you could do something with the remaining races (realistically, I don't think they'd have ever hoped for anything more than 4/5th in the WCC), then why put a relative rookie in the car rather than one of the most experienced drivers on the grid?

So it does. That'll teach me for just reading the first line. <whistle>

No offence intended to Nick, but it's good to see the older veterans making way for some of the younger talents without a drive. I don't rate Senna too highly, but he deserves the chance to prove me wrong, which I'm sure is top of his to-do list. ;)

Yeah for sure he deserves a chance, but let's see what he does. He definitely has to prove his critics like me wrong.

I really don't feel it is justified; but after being told his drive was hanging by a thread (when he was performing well), I must agree Heidfeld seems to have allowed himself to buckle under the pressure.

However, as a replacement, I'm not at all sold on Senna B spec'…

To be fair, Heidfeld as usual has had all the bad luck in the team, he is beating Petrov and the team hates him, yet he is the one getting kicked out? I can pretty much guarantee that Senna will be his usual sucky self and do absolutely nothing. Atleast do it next season if at anytime, Petrov should embarrass him.

Hello, back from the pub, and in a great mood (diet coke always tastes better from a pub). This driver change strikes me as odd, firstly because it's a tough circuit to have to get to grips with a car on, so Senna will inevitably struggle hugely, and secondly, because i read a rumour the other day that Robert Kubica is only a month away from returning. Shouldn't they have stuck with nick for 1 more month, and then put Bob in the car?

I don't understand what renault are trying to accomplish. They're locked in a battle for 5th in the constructors title, and putting an inexperienced driver in the car surely will lose them points. If it is for financial reasons, couldn't Boullier go to renault and ask for a bit more backing from them. I know that they aren't really renault, but if the car carries the renault name, they should surely stump up the cash to help bail the team out.

They have nearly twice the points of Sauber in 6th so they are not locked in a battle at all.

They were aiming to beat mercedes in 4th. Sauber aren't the threat, it's force india they need to look out for. For the last 2 races, FI have had the 4th best car. Now we have 2 circuits that suit the FI, i think that renault lead will come down rather quickly.

Nick is ahead of his team mate in the championship. A bit harsh of Renault really. Bruno is just another sponsorship revenue driver mainly because of his surname. I feel sorry for the drivers like Hulkenburg who have great skill and talent but who are stuck testing. Same thing happened to Di Resta until he finally got a drive. Oh well all being said, good luck to him.
