Better players than Meyler have struggled to make an impact in games when coming off the bench. He's certainly not as you say 'Next to useless when out of form' . That's perhaps more to do with your misguided judgement of the player. None of the team have been playing well, otherwise we wouldn't be in the predicament we are currently in.
