Just doing a little research on a football trophy of my dads, and trying to find more info re. the engraving. It says 'JOC league winners 1959'.
Can anyone shed any light on this?

Is he Scottish? Jock League... Did he play for Celtic?

Is he Japanese?

Was he in the military at that time? Joint Operation Command?

Doing a Google image search on Joc Cup is not pleasant.

Did find this that might be relevant... Especially if he's a scouser.

Junior organization of Clubs.

He was a scouser, and he would have been back in Liverpool after his national service in Korea. I found that website but there isn't a great deal
of info on it, but 'junior organisation of clubs' is defo what it stands for. <ok>

Also found this in Wikipedia Bootle FC - The possible resurrection of a Bootle team became a distinct probability in August 1947 when local councillors identified the popularity and talent on show in the ‘Bootle JOC’ league and knew the town was big enough to be put back on the football map with its own team again. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bootle_F.C.
