20 years ago, we said goodbye to the clubs greatest ever player
    Billy Bremner

Is the title of a tribute on LUTV.

Do you agree that he is “the club’s greatest ever player" (despite the grammatical error )?

    Please vote:

    - No question, greatest ever

    - Great player and personality, but not the greatest

    - Not in the top two of our greatest ever

He is my favorite and greatest Leeds United player, but is it unanimous?

If you vote other than he is the greatest ever, please share your opinion of which Leeds United player you rate ahead of B.B.

I didn't see him play either, but Billy was a one club player. Us. Charles wasn't. No contest IMO.

Good point, I did not read the question carefully enough.

In any case I voted yes. He was a leader like we’ve never had since, even this squad would go up if he was in it. And I always remember 1974 World Cup when he was on stage with the best in the world (specifically Brazil) and he was the best midfielder on the pitch.

I did see JC play he was great, having said that Billy's the best all round player we ever had.
    In my book

No doubt for me. Probably makes it more frustrating for auld lads like me looking at the modern day player. Always inclined to compare them to Billy and thats not fair. There wasnt many better than him at any club in my opinion

Truly one of the greats, but in modern day terms, I'd put Radebe up with him.

Evening JLA and all and sundry, my only initial hesitation was regarding JC too, but good point about Billy being a one club man.

Can you feckin imagine his reaction to one of Alioski's more obvious goings to ground. The lad's @rse would be sore for a week. <laugh><laugh>

Only reason I didn't vote Billy as the greatest ever is that I live in hope :emoticon-0148-yes:

I believe John Charles was the complete player. In his pomp he was the best centre forward in the world and that wasn't his best position. Billy was without a doubt our best ever captain plus he was a great player. I find it impossible to choose between them.

I see LL hasn't posted here yet.

Prolly still dithering over whether it's Klich, Adryan or Antenucci that's been our best player ever! <whistle>

Tricky one, comparing footballers past and present, would Billy spend more time suspended in today’s modern times? Radebe, Strachan and Speed are all up there for me, I wouldn’t like to single one out.

Billy was an intelligent player & would have been able to adapt to today's game, IMO. He also wasn't as dirty as some make him out to be - it was Giles that was the real dirty barsteward! :D

Again though, I refer back to the length of service & dedication to one club. The others you mention don't qualify for me. Legends, yes, but the best ever? An easy no for me. :(
