I don't think he comprehends Tobes. It's like having a divorce then continuing to live nextdoor to my ex wife, then expecting all the nice bits eg. regular bonking etc. without any of the responsibilities. I then complain that my ex wife is 'bullying' me because she objects to this arrangement.

Especially after she'd spelt out excactly what could and couldn't happen should you divorce, before the divorce was decided upon by YOU! <laugh>

This will not happen. This idea would only encourage the EU to give as bad a deal as possible. The only option is in parliament, which has been your preferred choice all along. Our MP's will decide on the outcome of the UK's negotiations or we leave, as directed by the referendum, with no deal.

You do realise it's basically impossible to leave with no deal without crippling the country, making a total mess of the peace agreement in N.I. or losing Gibraltar.

I'm sure the UK does not expect exactly the same deal as present but is trying for maximum benefit whilst being unshackled from the restrictive EU market. Financially the EU has more to lose but I accept the failing project is more important than EU workers. If they are willing to let many eurozone countries slip into abject poverty why worry about a couple of million EU jobs?

Nice swerve. You going to bring up French politics again to worm your way out of debating anything insightful?

Plenty of the loons on the right wing are having a right old go. Some seem to believe that this is the start of us staying in a negotiation for years ahead, and we will never actually leave. There is now a clear split in the Brexiteers who don't know if they should support the government, or carry on with their extreme demands. It shows that the referendum vote meant different things to different people even on the leave side, so what is the will of the people? No one knows.

We all know the result of the will of the people, definitely leaving the EU. Until the exact terms are known there is bound to be speculation. The negotiations will drag on like all EU previous deals.

During the transitional period the UK will have the right to do deals with non EU countries, quite a concession from the EU.

There is no such thing as the will of the people SH. There is the will of each individual - and that changes daily. One hundred referendums would produce 100 slightly different results, which is why one referendum cannot be made to stand for all time - as if frozen. Even on that one day it was not 'the will of the people', it was actually the will of only around 36% of those eligable to vote on it (which didn't include myself and a few million others).

Shall we call it the 'collective will of the people' in a vote that represents the majority view. These are set on specific days as set out in parliament. Elections and referendums are the only gauges that matter, not opinion polls that vary. Just as results of parliamentary elections stand so do referendums. To pretend anything else is to deny democracy incidentely which the far left are really quite good at.

The idea that an opinion poll can vary but a referendum somehow wouldn't is utter lunacy. A sizeable percentage of the voting public made their decision on the day ffs (see Lord Ashcrofts poll for details)

As is the idea that democracy was somehow frozen in June last year. If the populous change their minds before 2021 then their Govt representatives should act upon the opinion of their people.

This caller reflects the average working class Leave voter of a certain age.....perfectly

The elected parliamentary representatives fully discussed and agreed the UK's decision to remain or leave the EU should be taken in the form of a referendum. This was designed to be a single vote, not the best of three or five!!! I know the EU has history of ignoring referendums if it does not like the result but the UK has a much longer history of democracy.

There will not be another referendum, there should not be another referendum. The outcome of the designated referendum was to leave the EU. Parliament will ensure the chosen democratic decision will be upheld.

If some member countries can organise themselves enough to be able to escape the superstate juggernaut then hopefully the example of the UK leading the dash for freedom will have been worth it.

A Nation that can't change its mind ceases to be a democracy - David Davies

Rapid Brexiteers like you, all spit feathers when the idea of a further public vote on either Brexit itself or the terms of how we leave is mooted. Why is that? I think we all know the answer......and it's **** all to do with a desire to uphold democracy

Well at least they've agreed something.

    Thought nothing would happen.

Everyone can now move onto the next issue.

Costa Adeje is the posh end, very nice. You would not feel comfortable, just stick to the tacky end.

Hahaha, a posh end in southern Tenerife? <laugh>

If you want something even vaguely decent you head for the North sweetie. Albeit if I choose to take some winter sun I generally head for the Indian Ocean or the Caribbean old boy.
