For 45 mins we pretty much matched Man Utd, although it was a tale of two defences. We,once again, look desperately anaemic up front. You really do wonder where a goal is coming from.
What is NOT acceptable, is the way we disintegrated after Utd scored the first goal. We just seemed to give up. The second half was so one-sided, it was an embarressment. In truth, it could have been five or six, very easily.
Losing is one thing - just rolling over, is another.

What has happened to Lennon? He needs to get his confidence back. So frustrating.

Why did you not try any long shots?

Defoe showed his usual "shoot on site and never pass" attitude. VDV was wayward and sloppy. Bale was quiet tonight. First game so don't panic. Still, we need reinforcements. Levy.... chequebook son. And hurry up!

We were as mediocre as the Red Mancs in the first half - and once they decided to play we were taken apart.

Honestly, truly awful - and I think that Harry's 2 points from 8 games comments of a few years back will come back to haunt him unless we bring in at least 4 or 5 new players in the next week or so, but after that abject display who would want to join us?

totally agree. when united got on the ball on about 60 mins, we pretty much didnt touch it for 15 mins after that and we were lucky it was only 3. some of our first touches and basic passing was just horrendous. we always seem to have "tired legs"; an excuse i'm sick of hearing.

none of us really know what the modric scenario is, but if he wasn't playing because "his head is not in the right place", well done mate. hope you're proud of yourself.

well done to jake livermore, worked his sock off, but the experience isnt there yet.

one positive: Brad Friedel. i bet he's mighty pissed off having conceded 3. some brilliant saves tonight, i dread to think how many it could have been if it wasnt for him.

Yeah I'd agree with that, kept us in it for large periods.

Why was Walker on the pitch if he was ill and Corluka fully fit?

I'm not too concerned at the moment. It's a typical Spurs scenario,we need a win and better results will follow. I was happy with the way we kept 0-0 for an hour but I just gave up when the first one went in. I knew it was all over. New faces please Harry.

Man Utd 21 attempts on target, I thought I was with my football manager side for a minute

Luke, the difference between before you scored the first goal, and afterwards, was like night & day. We just fell apart. THAT is what is not acceptable. Yes, Utd are a good team, but you're not that much better - we just rolled over. Lack of guts, and effort, are indefensible.

yep, totally agree luke. man united just get things right, that's the difference. regardless of the football played tonight, their transfer dealings have been spot on. they identified who they wanted and signed them 2 months ago. the way those players have already slotted into the team was clear to see.

it'd be nice if we could do the same for once.

Why is it that a keeper that lets in 3 goals is getting plaudits?

A couple of flashy saves don't make a good keeper. If Gomes had let in 3 the fans would be going nuts - but our free signing is like the new Brian, he does and he's still the bees knees?????

Imagine how many it could have been if Spurs had De Gay in goal.

DB, none of those goals could have been prevented. 3 great finishes. No ones saying he's the bees knees after 1 game but he made some great saves, despite 3 going past him. Or was I watching a completely different game?!

Sorry, totally disagree. Apart from our obvious blunt edge up front, we were pretty much your equals. We created as much as you did. After the first goal, it was like watching the air being slowly let out of a balloon - as I have alreadty said, we just disintegrated. Our performance after Utd scored was a disgrace.

No, he did make some great saves, but nothing that Gomes couldn't have done.

The point I am trying to make is that FREEdel was suppose to be the answer to a question asked by some of our goalkeeping standards over the past season, BUT he's no better than what we had!

Sorry mate, I think that's a little unfair. Gomes is rightly criticised for his laughable gaffs. There was very little Friedl, or I suspect, any keeper could have done about the three goals tonight. In fact, if it weren't for Friedl, it would have been more.
