Pleased to see a capable manager in place. Concerned about his judgement in coming to a club run by owners like ours.
Welcome, good luck to him as he will need it, let's hope he can at least stabilise matters on the pitch, and instill some self belief into the players.
Good luck to the man .. at Scunny and Southampton Adkins did a terrific job .. As others have said at Sheff Utd and Reading not so well .. but he has had a breather from the game and possibly more importantly comes with his right hand man Crosby. He comes across as a good man manager and I recall his Scunny and Southampton teams as being pretty well organised. Given the circus at the club currently it' probably as good as we could get tbh. Let' hope he gets his message across and starts an upward turn. I do agree with OLM though 're his interviews when at Scunny .. dear had he can go on. I can only hope he has learned to be more concise in his appraisals
I haven't kept up with him since he left Southampton so in my ignorance, I don't think this is a bad appointment. Expectations aren't too high at the minute. Just win a few games and don't get relegated, anything else is a bonus.
On no money to 500 grand to a million a year. Tough call. The words no one would ever come to this club should be banned from this board. Fact. Welcome Nigel. We've made some plans for you... I bet I'm the first aren't I, I just bet I am.
You'll always find managers who'll want to come. Saying that no one would come to this club is ridiculous.
If he gets the support he needs he will do ok in my opinion. If its sell two players get one loanee and promote a youngster, then we will go down next season with Crosby in charge.nigel will have made other plans.
