Can anyone explain why this stupid law was introduced ? surely the more options a manager has during a game then the more open a game. Not our fault that teams like Poopey can barely scape together 11 players ( I won`t say team). Also whats your thoughts on a 15 minute sin bin instead of yellow cards- for me much more effective and hurtful to a team
15 min sin bin would be impossible to implement for a number of reasons, but I see where your going. The 5 subs rule just hurts youth development & makes the decision makers look like turkeys.......again.
Their stated reason was because teams had trouble getting 7 subs when we were deep into the season after all their injuries/suspensions/etc. I suspect that this was mostly League 1 and League 2 teams, and not the Championship teams. NA has stated that SFC voted for 7 players instead of 5, but they have to go with what the rules are so they will do 5.
5 subs greatly reduces the chances of youth players coming through . . . and isn't hat what that FL are on about? Players like Ryan Doble, Ben Reeves, Jack Stephens, James Ward-Prowse are going to find it even harder to make the break through now IMO
All we hear is we need develop our youth for englands sake and the numptys do this, it winds me up that we have half wits making these desicions
Someone more able than myself should start an internet petition, if it starts on here and grows then it will make not 606 a hell of a lot more prominent as well! You listening mods!? Get the message to the head honcho of this here website! We want an internet petition to get back 7 subs!
Well, it should have been a minimum of 5, but allowed to use 7, you know, for clubs who pride themselves with developing young players & giving them opportunities. I guess they though 5 would be less complicated.
Just thought I'd test the water. It's lukewarm, same as always. Seriously, any more subs and we won't have a bench, but a platter.
Their agument for having 5 subs is that sometimes teams cant field 7, but its not like you have to forfeit the game if you field 6 or less is it?
I think the 5 subs rule is good for League 1 and League 2 but they should have had 7 subs for the Championship as there are a lot of big squads in this division.
It's a joke and shouldn't have even been up for debate. I heard somewhere that clubs get fined for not filling their bench, which if is the case, then it's understandable but why not get rid of the fine?! (Seems ridiculous anyway) Also, it's obvious that the majority that voted for the 5 subs would have been League 1 and League 2 clubs with smaller squads, so they should have kept 7 subs for the Championship and just reduced it for Leagues 1 and 2.
seriously what sort of "professional club" cannot find 18 players from amongst their 1st team, reserves and youth set up! Any club that cannot genuinely find 18 players deserves to be put at an additional disadvantage.
Also, about the sin bin idea, I think that yellow cards are given out far too easily these days for that to work so you would end up with a five-a-side match at times!!
