Anybody on here had a near death experience or a close shave with the reaper ? Anybody had one of those NDE's where you experience an out of body experience and see your body separated from your 'spirit' I had a bad bike accident in my early 20's. Cycled out in front of an 11.5 ton delivery truck (yes stupid I know). Bike got folded in half and I luckily got thrown clear. Woke up in the middle of the road sometime later with the paramedics standing over me putting a neck brace on and putting me onto a stretcher. Got off lightly considering with some broken toes, swelling, and bad cuts and bruises. Had another close call when I nearly drowned in Ireland surfing a spot called Crab Island. I was with a couple of pros and way out of my depth. Thought I could take it on and nearly paid the price. Got thrown over the lip of a huge wave and onto the reef below, then got the full force of the wave on top of me and dragged across the reef under water for what seemed like eternity. When I eventually surfaced, another wave hit me and pushed me down again, that was the moment I though I was done for. Luckily I got washed over the reef into some shallow rocks and managed to drag myself clear. I've had what you would describe as an out of body experience whilst taking DMT, but that's probably more in the realms of Eschatolgy that an actual near death experience, but that's probably a subject for another thread.
Never had one of them out of body near death experiences. Fascinating stuff though. What I did used to have was the same dream/nightmare years on end as I was growing up where I would float to the top corner of the hallway and I could see myself laying in bed(bedroom door open) and could see something stood at the bottom of the stairs in the dark. Always the same **** till it just stopped.
No out of body experiences but near death yep. Fell into a big water storage thing as a kid and nearly drowned Went to fetch a slipper for my cousin that had fallen down this embankment and a crocodile nearly grabbed me, **** you not And, this is mad ****, used to work in this place where a polish dude used to come in and be really friendly and always say "why don't you come on a night out". Guy looked like a rat so I would fob him off with " yeah when I got time" etc. Anyway long story short had a mate who started working at the same place. On a night out he had been approached by C18 and asked to join them. They told him they were going to be "killing a paki" soon. One say we are at work and I see rat guy about to come in, sees my mate and just turn and go. My mate says "he's one of them combat 18 guys who tried to recruit me"
I already posted my very similar surfing experience to Piskie’s. Same really, I got hit by a 8-10 footer...went under and couldn’t fight my way back up as more and more water came down on top of me. Bounced me off the bottom a few times, and it went right across my mind, “this is it, you’re a gonna”. Managed to fight my way back up just in time...
I've had quite a few, too many for my liking. I remember once waking up and there was a ****ing priest standing by the bed. A few hospitals around South London and Kent used to know me pretty well.
I floated out of my body once while on acid at andromeda 5 at the institute in Birmingham. Saw myself crumpled in the corner against the fruit machines. Also came close to drowning when I was a nipper, had cpr done on me lay on the beach. All I could remember of it was seeing a picture of a baby in the womb as a lasting memory of the event.
I used have really strange dreams as a kid about floating away and being able to see everything below me in miniature. Incredible detail and everything. I still have flying dreams now, they are brilliant. I basically ‘swim’ myself up to the height I want and then glide around.
Where was that mate ? They say that drowning is supposed to be one of the most peaceful ways to go. I’d ****ing contest that ! It was sheer panic being dragged underwater across that reef.
I have that flying dream too. I get to a height just above electric pylons.. then all I have to do is lean forward and I fly.
West coast of Ireland. I just remember the panic, followed by almost a sense of resignation that it was all over. Then somehow my head broke the surface.
Same here. West coast of Ireland, just up from Cliffs of Moher (which is now a big wave spot). I was surfing a spot called crab island which is a 1/4 mile paddle off of the slip from Doolin. The waves were big, but from the shore you couldn’t really see how big. They were probably in the same range as you describe 8-10ft. And breaking on to a slab rock reef which was about 2ft below the surface. Looking back I should never have taken it on, but I was with some mates who are **** hot surfers and do it for a living. I thought I could handle it and nearly paid the ultimate price.
Yeah 8-10 ft doesn’t sound much until you actually see the ****ers!. And one coming down on top of you is like having Saxton dropped on you from the same height.
Lucid dreaming....it's a good buzz once you know it's a dream...I've done the flying stuff which you control with your conscious mind....amazing stuff
