I think I realised that. After all, surely not even an Englishman would think that any of the last convicts to be transported in 1867 were still alive.
Cricket used to be such an unpredictable game! The batting weaknesses in form, technique and temperament were there for all to see in September. The seam bowling depends on two fine but ageing players who need help from the conditions to excel. The captain is a very fine player but unused the taxing nature of being in charge on a media crazy Ashes tour of Australia and the quality all rounder who gave the team balance was daft enough to get himself excluded altogether. The only surprise perhaps is that during individual sessions they have managed to be completely in control. It's certainly a tough task to summon up a fighting performance on a Perth track they haven't won on for 40 years or so!
Another one of the tour party, Ben Duckett, has been involved in an incident in a bar. What is it with so many sportsmen getting into trouble? Not very professional in my opinion.
A cricketer name of Ben Duckett Was drinking some beer from a bucket When asked by a mate Why he was second rate On the lad's head's he straight away chucked it
Maybe its time just to let all these athletes take drugs for asthma - they all seem to do it! http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cycling/42335916 Probably the last thing cycling needed as a sport but cannot say I am surprised..
But can't necessarily prove it. Spirometry tests done in conjunction with a methacoline challenge would confirm it.
Mo Farah finally wins SPOTY in a year when he didn't get a double gold medal... Typical British in a way - probably got more votes because people felt sorry he didn't win the last race.
Root having to retire twice kind of sums up the series I guess !! Least he gave it a go. Totally dominated and outclassed in all areas.
Fantastic performance by Philander for South Africa - with Steyn breaking down again, he had to be both economical and a strike bowler and did it brilliantly.
