One of my favourite dates in the football calendar. When the minnows get to play against the big boys and dream of the road to Wembley and possibly a lucrative and memorable away tie to one of the giants of the English game, like Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea or City.

Some tasty ties in this years 3rd round. With the stand out match being the Merseyside derby.

Arsenal have a potential tricky tie away at Nottm Forrest. The Mancs have fairly straight forward home ties, Chelsea will face a tough Norwich side away, whilst the Spuds have an easy home game against AFC Wimbledon.

    Full fixtures :

    The third-round draw in full
    Ipswich Town v Sheffield United

    Watford v Bristol City

    Birmingham City v Burton Albion

    Liverpool v Everton

Brighton & Hove Albion v Crystal Palace

Aston Villa v Woking or Peterborough United

Bournemouth v AFC Fylde or Wigan

    Coventry City v Stoke City

    Newport County v Leeds United

    Bolton Wanderers v Huddersfield Town

Port Vale or Yeovil Town v Bradford City

    Nottingham Forest v Arsenal

    Brentford v Notts County

Queens Park Rangers v MK Dons

    Manchester United v Derby County

Forest Green Rovers or Exeter City v West Bromwich Albion

    Doncaster Rovers v Rochdale

    Tottenham Hotspur v AFC Wimbledon

    Middlesbrough v Sunderland

Fleetwood or Hereford v Leicester City

Blackburn Rovers or Crewe Alexandra v Hull City

    Cardiff City v Mansfield Town

    Manchester City v Burnley

Shrewsbury Town v West Ham United

    Wolverhampton Wanderers v Swansea City

    Stevenage v Reading

    Newcastle United v Luton Town

    Millwall v Barnsley

    Fulham v Southampton

Wycombe Wanderers v Preston North End

    Norwich City v Chelsea

Gillingham or Carlisle United v Sheffield Wednesday

Though draw for us but at least it's at home.

I have a soft spot for Forrest used to watch them at the superb City Ground on most weekends.

Amateur stuff Piskie lad...I'm a Jedi...but you don't even need to be a Jedi to see what you did.

Anyway....some decent ties in there with Banana potential

If Fleetwood beat Hereford we will all have to endure learning about Vardy's Chavvy life up until the tie. So here's hoping Hereford win

I also hope Hereford win as that tie would be a far more classic FA cup minnow vs top flight than Fleetwood

I wouldn’t call liverpool v Everton a stand out tie at all. It is a big date on the premier league calendar yes but you said it yourself, FA Cup is for minnow vs giant, upset opportunities. Personally I’m not going to watch that match on FA cup weekend. I’d rather watch Shrewsbury v West Ham

If Spurs are televised we will have to endure Quentin's usual tedious bollox ... no chance of him actually attending the game and giving us a break, I suppose?

... despite the fact they may have to give tickets away to half-fill Wemberleeee <laugh>

Agreed hopefully Fylde get through too and go to Bournemouth.

Spurs Wimbledon and Cov Stoke are better ties too imo, also hoping Hereford get through to play your lot.

No time for all PL ties this early personally unless there's added spice like Brighton Palace.

I'm relatively pleased with our trip to Fulham, never been there and supposed to be a cracking away day. Should get 4k+ tickets and just waiting for confirmation to try and sort time off work out.

Yeah I’d rather watch any of those, just what the cup is about to me. Not people creaming themselves over the Liverpool Derby we get twice a season.
Fylde at Bournemouth could be a good and Cov v Stoke. I’d have liked to see Wimbledon at home to Spurs

One of the best days out I ever had was at Fulham in the 80's ... we were trying to overhaul them in the promotion race with only a few games to go ... we did after a 1-0 win at theirs .. pissed as a fart on that terrace when football grounds had real atmosphere skip to about 4:30 for the goal and celebrations) <ok>

One of the best grounds in the country to visit imo. I'm off on the Sunday, just need to book the Saturday now, and see them switch it to Monday or some ****.

Agreed about that game being better if Wimbledon at home but they'll take a **** load up there and may even nick a draw to take to replay...

I'm 2:30-10 both Saturday and Sunday so Monday or Friday would suit me <whistle>

In seriousness though ideally it stays at Saturday 3pm and I can swap my shift.

I'm hoping they give us the 'neutral' end behind the goal which should be around 5k if I remember rightly?

Probably right though sadly. United should be nowhere near it this round.

It’d be good. But the Wembley revenue will be great for them. The Hereford contingent said although Leicester is a great draw they’d rather it be at Leicester for that reason. This is why these ties should be on tv to help the smaller clubs. Man U, Arsenal, Liverpool, Everton etc don’t need it.
Tbf in our title season when we were knocked out in round 3 by Spurs in the replay and both games were on tv I thought that was a joke

Given they’ve had the same draw recently v Derby I agree. It’s written in the FA rules book that Man Utd have to be televised every round every year though
