That season we played them when they went up, I thought they were excellent to watch. Both full backs on the edge of the box, both cbs receiving the ball from goal kicks. Playing out from the back.
Not as many posts as I thought.it seems the tiger nation sleeps tonight.waiting for the hyenas to clear off down a hole from whence they came
I agree. Saw the game at St Mary's where we played well , went one up but they won 2-1. They were excellent, and wide men got in crosses for powerful strikers. I would be happy enough with Adkins, particularly as experienced at this sort of level.
He just needs some full backs that can play on the edge of the box and centre backs that can pass. That's if the useless one hasn't put him off yesterday.
He was DOF with full control over football matters including being on the bench at times. Under him they got relegated and lost at home 1:3 to a much superior Eastleigh in the cup. Ask any STFC supporter whether they would like him back as manager. "Sherwood's role was to "head up all aspects, including transfers, the way we play, the formations and the picking of the team", according to Power on his appointment. He was often seen on the Swindon bench with head coach Luke Williams in a confusing union"
He did a very good job at Southampton, but given who they replaced him with you can hardly blame them. I don't think it would be a bad appointment, just whether **** and Younger **** are **** scared of relegation and loosen the purse strings in Jan. I won't hold my breath on that one.
I don't think that's the case. I do think they honestly thought they could get us back up on the cheap, or at the very least have us in the play-offs so tempting a buyer as the season progressed. Idiots.
Just allowing a dignified gap for Slutsky to leave before Adkins comes in. Announcement later today or tomorrow.
These are my thoughts on it also. It's not vindictive is incompetence. Ehab's made comments, before the season, about other clubs selling players and then spend all the proceeds on new players where as he bought for less. This makes me think that he thought he'd found the perfect strategy. I honestly think he expected another bounce back up at the first time of asking. Ignoring the fact that last time we kept just about the whole squad intact and it still wasn't an automatic promotion.
They are, like I said on another thread about them being totally devoid of decency, they are similarly, totally devoid of being dignified.
Last time we scraped up, arguably Brighton deserved it more but they messed up the playoffs and we got a weaker Wednesday team in the final. The Allams got very lucky that season.
Not vindictive? "You can die when you want", trying to get rid of the word City from our name due to vindictiveness towards the Council. Turfing out many clubs, including disabled clubs, so they can use the Airco to qualify for Cat 2 Academy. I could go on. Vindictive - by ****ing christ those ****s are. They don't give a **** other than themselves - they've said as much. However I will agree that there is a HUGE dose of incompetence thrown in for good measure.
No problems. Mazuch > Schneiderlin Dawson > Fonte Dicko > Lambert Henriksen > Lallana Dio > Sharp Frazer Richardson's career pretty much collapsed after that season and Danny Fox didn't push on. I guess having players like Luke Shaw coming through helps a bit. Didn't realise that Oxlaide-Chamberlain was sold before that season.
