The Grinch is alive and well and writes for the Independent. Apparently according to old miser guts, because the vast majority of people can't afford to have a nice Christmas (vast majority....really?) no one should. And because some people have to work at Xmas, no one should get time off (I was one of these workers and I never for one minute wanted everyone to miss out). And because Xmas upsets single people, people with families shouldn't get together as it rubs their noses in it. And because some are not Christians, none of should celebrate Xmas....try telling Jews and Muslims that they can't enjoy their festivals. And people may get into debt at Xmas, but that is their choice....you cut the cloth of Xmas according to your means....it's a good lesson for children to learn. There are people who are poor and alone at Christmas and it is at this time of the year that people give more freely to charities hoping to alleviate this for at least some of these people. I know Christmas is when my hand goes in my pocket because I am aware that I'm going to spoil myself, family and friends. Christmas lifts the spirits in a miserable time of the year....shame it's so early.
Not sure how thinking she's a panda can be used as mitigation. Perhaps not as black and white as it seems.
BREAKING NEWS!! Dectorists live in the field behind me!!! Series 4 being filmed in location me thinks
Our chicken feed thief is a squirrel who assumes I trek down each day to purely replenish his repast. Bugger.
As I've said before....I haven't taken my tree down for 5 years...I just move it to the box room. Bring it downstairs and plug in....tada!
Mine's been up for ages. Up in the bleeding loft where it belongs that is. It'll make an appearance about a week before xmas. Bah, humbug
yep did that this year, kept it in the shed with all the lights on, plugged it in and as you say tada! (no 4 hours untangling the lights and soldering the wires back in)
