I don’t think they are allowed to at half time.

Although to be fair, you’re quite tall enough and don’t need the assistance... <whistle>

It was Madley who gave Arsenal a last minute penalty against us last season which was more than dodgy. :(

Not totally convinced Chilcs. The Boufal challenge could be described as careless or reckless in the tackles or challenges category, the direct free kick is for outside the box thing I believe, inside I reckon it’s a pen. Can Tom clear this up?

That’s the law, there has to be contact whether it’s inside or outside the box. Mind you, ref’s do interpret the law according to guidelines which change all the time, and not all refs interpret laws the same way, or consistently. For example, handball has to be deliberate to be an offence, but the interpretation of deliberate varies a lot! (Sorry Tom, but that’s how I see it.)

Hope we don't see replay of Madley's decisions for this game. Not stopping for the head injury still annoys me much less the penalty.

You are right I think, that's just to describe what is a DFK and not an IDFK, which is when a player "impedes the progress of an opponent without any contact being made". It could be a DFK without contact being made, for example an attempted but missed kick, but would be a bit weird. None of that mattered in this one, it was a careless tackle.

It was a careless tackle, absolutely, but Smith was rightly punished for simulation and trying to deceive the referee. Yellow card, free kick to Saints..
