A competition mired in corruption, with Sepp Blatter as Putin's guest of honour, in a country banned from major Athletics competitions because of state-sponsored drug abuse on an industrial scale, well that was too good an opportunity for The Blessed Gary to miss. I'm still really looking forward to it though.
Surely not the same blessed Gary who has been very careful with how much UK tax he pays? When it comes to financial sleaze, quite often the pot shouts loudest when it comes to calling the kettle black.
Yes, apparently he is a professional presenter and taking money from an organisation he had previously declared “corrupt” is no different to the BBC and BT Sport paying for his services. His reputation and image would be so, so much better if only he stopped playing out his mid life crisis on Twitter.
Lineker doesn't bother me - though he is a bit self righteous without deserving to be so. This situation though, he can't talk his way out of it. It's made him look a tad pathetic.
As a rule of thumb, I don't let things that don't affect me directly upset me too much. Theres already enough stress in life. Except Roland.
