Darnbourgh is the head of recruitment isn't he ? Who mentioned his Chelsea connections when he was appointed ? I'm sure it wasn't Darnbourgh. You must be the only person who ahsnt mentioned yet that Slutks 'was a nice man'. Burnys as managed to inform us at least a dozen times already this morning. We have plenty of talented players in our squad, but for half of last season and for six months of this a manager who was clueless in getting the best out of them.
So I assume you're saying Slutsky was screwed over by the Allams, which I agree with, I also assume you are inferring that LS had no say in players & had to pick the best of a bad bunch, which he did. Poorly on many occasions. If he wanted to come across as a good manager, then he should have walked before he was made to look like a fool. If he's that good mates with Chelsea & Abramovich I'm sure his connections would have paid off for somewhere that wasn't so ****ed up as us. Of course you might just be choosing a post also criticising Slutsky & putting some random words together claiming that's the equivalent of what LS had to to work with. Out of the words mentioned I'd pick Switzerland in defence. I mean, an entire ****ing country!
We do have some talented players, unfortunately, almost all of them play in midfield and we've got a ridiculously unbalanced squad. The only good full back at the club hasn't played for two years ffs.
Why are so people so convinced he would have done any better under a good chairman? That's what I can't get my head around , the things he could control like team selection and subs have all been questioned and quite widely thought of as poor - ok we all except he hasn't been given a golden bunch to work with and I understand why he isn't hated, but I've seen nothing from him football wise to suggest he would have done much better with a decent chairman, in many ways he's lucky to have worked with Ehab , because he could have lost 7-0 every week and bummed the ballboys and he would have still escaped criticism
Of course he would have done better working for a good chairman, DJ. He'd have had much better players to work with, that goes without saying. Oh and no one is lucky to work with ****. Oh and Slutsky hasn't escaped criticism. Bloody ell, I disagree with all of that
to me people are just so full of hatred for the Allams ( and rightly so ) they are blind to the fact Slutsky was **** as well - like I said Saturday I wanted them both gone , were halfway there , as Jon bon would say
I've fixed it. It's all down to those little 'QUOTE' tags which automatically get inserted into your post when you reply to someone. If you accidentally delete part of one, it ****s the whole thing up.
No, just a power-hungry bastard. I can still edit posts and stuff. For some reason the ability was never taken away. I've not actually done any moderating for years now.
The problem is though Managers (or Head Coaches) don't choose to work with a Head of Recruitment the owners dictate that to them. IMHO Sluts had little input into who we brought in or who we sold. (and of course that's just my opinion) We'll never know if he'd have done better if he'd had more influence over the transfers or even if he'd been given a more balanced squad. He didn't do too bad in his previous roles though. I wouldn't be surprised though if Darnbrough's brief from the club was to make a profit rather then make a team......
Slutsky definitely got less criticism because he's a nice guy , some would have still been waiting for him to turn it around as we went into april in the bottom 3
I said at the time .. I've said many times previously .. and I will say yet again .. the only reason Darnborough was appointed was to be used as a scapegoat when Ehaw fkd it up again.
