Slutsky should have been third in line to leave after the owners and Head of Recruitment. He was sold short by these fly-by-nights. Let the appeasement talks continue but until the pirates have set sail the plundering will continue.
It is hard to argue against both opinions. I firmly believe the squad isn't good enough and I cannot argue that good coaching would improve things (god knows it couldn't get worse). But lets not lose sight of the real problem. If I was a betting man Id be putting money on new/replacement back four players being recruited in January.
I'm really sorry it didn't work out for him, really genuine guy, but it was clear he just couldn't make it work. Just doesn't seem to be able to set a team up defensively. Good luck to him in the future.
They'll be able to recall them if they wish, but I doubt they'll be in any hurry to do so, there's unlikely to be a queue of clubs wanting to take them off us.

Haha yes think I made that suggestion the other day. Knows Russia, knows how to manage an International team, we could do worse.
When I found out what had happened yesterday I had to search google to find out exactly what happened, renaming an old thread and not updating the initial post to give the news wasn't helpful. I wasn't about to scroll through loads of pages to pick up the details (mutual agreement etc).

Apart from a couple of games at WBA Megson hasn't managed in nigh on 6 years and he wasn't that good before. Dare say he's more available (cheaper) than Adkins though. Me I'd sooner see Karanka if he's genuinely a candidate.
