You're right. I'd forgotten Dave is missing the Stoke game either way. Swap him for Jan and we'll go with a CB pairing of 19 and 21 years old.
IMO we definitely need to field a strong line up for the U19's must win game. For the seniors, Definitely don't risk anyone who we must have fit; so no Verts, Tripps, Davies, Dier, Dembele, Winks,Kane and even Son and Eriksen and Dele. Who does that leave? Vorm/Gazza Aurier/KWP; Dave; Foyth; DOF Lamela; TOB; Roles; GKN; Llorente; Harrison
It doesn't even leave them, as Lamela's not in the CL squad (and that's putting aside the Youth league game earlier that day we need to win)
I feel youth team games shouldn't take priority when looking at first team contention. Progression in the competition would be great and it's good to get the young lads used to playing with one another but first team experience is unrivalled and there won't be many better opportunities to play in such a big competition at their age again in a situation where the result also won't matter, thus they'll either win or they'll learn, there's no loss involved. With recent form, coupled with injuries and now a suspension to deal with in the Prem, we can't afford to be fatiguing players any further or risking potential injury to players in positions that are light on numbers. Vorm/ Gazza KWP, Foyth, Tanganga, Rose Winks, TOB GK, Edwards, Georgiou Nando
Dave can play as he can now rest for three PL games. Winks needs a rest. With no Wanyama and a dodgy Dembele we will need him.
Are we able to field this side in terms of players registered for the CL etc? If so, it’s exactly what we should be doing!
I used to be Spurs crazy too! I even bunked over the wall at the Lane to watch an International friendly behind closed doors back in the 50's.....but I'm feeling much better now!!!!!?
I remember Eddie Baily turning up for a game via London Transport trolleybus.Haven't times changed!!!!!?
Yeh you wouldn't get that now they would turn up in a Bentley or a rolls Royce and as you say how times have changed
Remember the 521 & 621 from Finchley through to Wood Green & beyond? As kids we always went upstairs on the trolley buses as you could move the back of the seat to face the way the bus was going but we always put them the opposite way so you were 'back to front' as it were (anyone born after the '50s will wonder what I'm on about!
I remember those routes. The 625 and 643 (and the City Coach to Southend) passed my house in Lordship Lane.I remember the trams having reversible seats 33 from Manor House. By the way,I was born at the top of Jolly Butchers Hill opposite the church in Wood Green. The Gaumont was our "Saturday morning pictures" hangout and the tube station was my passport to foreign parts e.g Finsbury Park (OOOHHH! Nasty! They told me there was a club down there in red shirts trying to play football!)
Surely the suspended Sanchez has to play. We'll need a senior player in defence, so him and Rose should be able to organise the team between them.
Indeed. I am favouring Vorm (c) KWP Dave Foyth Rose Winks TOB Sissoko Eriksen GKN Llorente With Eriksen rested for the next league game in favour of starting Lamela
