I don’t get all the sympathy for him. Poor Luke moved to Utd and earned millions. Now his career is in tatters. Couldn’t care less. He’s an adult, made his own decisions.
I think the sympathy is for his stress and coping with his situation. No matter how rich or privileged he may seem, if he’s having issues then he needs some help and support.
You do realise he has mental health issues? Mental health issues can effect anyone. To not show sympathy for a sufferer is disgusting, you have no idea what he goes through
No I didn’t. I also suffer, as does my sister although much more seriously than myself. I just assumed he was a typical ignorant young footballer.
TBF how would anyone know? Your'e the only source I've seen this info come from so its hardly public knowledge.
Mental "frailties" has been mention in loads of articles. It's obvious what the articles are hinting at.
To be fairer, not everyone reads every bit of every article, and even if they did, they may not male the connection. Football is often described as a physical and mental game, with some people talking about xxx player hasn’t got the capacity for the mental side or similar words. I think some issues are easier to spot for certain people, as it may be more relatable for them perhaps. I would be surprised if anyone was not picking it up on purpose.
Young player leaves club that raised him at first opportunity for big pay day. Also the way he conducts himself doesn’t suggest he is an enlightened young man (such as JWP). It’s not an assumption I make of every player.
Ok I will revise my statement; I feel sorry for him and empathise if he does have health issues. But am more annoyed at his agent/advisor and manure for (apparently) not looking after him. In truth we don’t know what support he is given. Manure spent 35m on him so it would seem strange if they didn’t have a club psychiatrist and counsellor to cater for mental health issues.
Have to disagree with that sorry. Football has always referred to players having a good or bad mentality. You wouldn't immediately put a poor mentality down to health issues. Its easier to draw those conclusions if your in the know or stalk social media perhaps.
As well as points from those below!!! It helps towards the magiicall figure of 50, which could secure the Saints another top 10 finish? Is there a trophy for that as one hasn't been won since the JPT???
No didn't know that. That's sad & more so then that an agent took advantage & his new employer didn't "see" at time nor help thereafter(?)
Trouble is when statements are made saying he is mentally weak, some people seem to think he is some sort of moron. Shaw certainly isn't that........Ok he now realises it wasn't such a good move. He has also been publicly berated by 2/3 managers which is not going to help anyone. Thats enough to bring anyone down and make them depressed. The right manager and he will soon be knocking back on Englands door..............Err mopo2 is not the one though.......
Yes but that doesn't instantly mean that he has mental health problems. Players who liked to go out too much or were prone to making stupid decisions both on and off the field get described as being weak mentally or have a poor mentality. The only things I've seen in articles are that Shaw isn't disciplined enough to keep himself fit, no mention of mental health problems. I'm not saying you are lying or that he hasn't got them just that it hasn't been reported anywhere that I have seen.
