Sometimes no amount of training will improve anyone's ability. They have a ceiling. There are players in our starting 11 that have reached that point in my opinion. That doesn't just apply to football, you can apply that to anything in life, that's just how it is.
The whole side can improve with organisation and leadership from the touchline .. as I said earlier I'm aware they'e not world beaters but an organiser would get a better tune out of them for sure. Look how Silva worked tirelessly with the squad that was shipping goals last season .. he got them organised and initially turned the tide.. it' not rocket science.
He actually brought in better players, that helps, but he still could not beat Sunderland or get an away win, and when did we last let in 7 goals in a game?
Not when the players don't have the ability to be any better than they currently are. This does seem to be rocket science for you.
For what it's worth I agree with you. The defence is what it is and needs new blood for it to improve significantly. But it needs drilling and it needs to limit the goals we concede. I would stay with 4 at the back, but I take Chazz's point as well - both rely on training though. The midfield is too easily overlooked. We need to create more of a threat from it, we should never allow the opposition to push us back as a lazy tactic. The praise our midfield gets is out of kilter to what they should be performing to at this level. We score goals, but with the strike force we've got we should be scoring more than the opposition far more regularly. The Allams created a piss poor situation but the coach is culpable for not getting the best from his squad and offering the worse match management performances I have ever witnessed. It is best all around if he leaves.
Well if it seems true he's gone then we shall see what the next bloke does till the transfer window opens. Big Sam has sorted out Everton in two gameswhen they were in total disarray
Don' try to be clever with snide remarks just because I don' agree with what your saying. I have a different opinion .. as you say 'end of'
Other than a bit of new manager bounce. I don't see any likely improvement. As I have already stated umpteen times - it's the defence that is poor. Midfield/attack are ok, not a priority for additions. The defence however needs a minimum of 3 additions. 4 would be ideal, but unlikely. They then need drilling and getting them working as a unit. Unfortunately this won't be possible until the window re-opens. Given people seem to keep over looking this point - transfers and transfer targets will be the responsibility of Darnbrough, who hasn't had any degree of success at any club with regards to transfers.
Do you understand the principle of the sum of the parts... ... why do you always choose to insult people who have a different opinion to you?
it looks like fake account. Never ever heard (during a lot of years) that Leo has open social networks accounts.
I'm suspecting if that is his account and he has gone then we'll soon see if an organiser is brought in whether we shall improve .. the most Important thing now is to ensure we get the right man in to do the job.
Glp, Blacknamberblood I think your both right. We have players that have reached their ceiling and aren’t good enough. We also have players that should be performing better, as olm said slutsky doesn’t appear to do anything on the sideline so we need someone who can come in and organise us better and make is hard to beat first of all
He isn' being sensitive at all he' pointing out a fact.. whenever anyone disagrees with your opinions you try to demean them. Snidey remarks.. would make a much better point if you stick to it being your opinion rather then thinking everything that comes from you is fact and cannot be disagreed with. Believe it or not people do have differing opinions in things.
Agree with the transfer targets but hopefully the new man will bring in his own team and we can get rid of the career failure Darnbrough
I don't think we're good enough all over the park. Stuart Green nailed it the other night on RH. Starting the obvious, our form is nailed on relegation. Someone new might get a bit more out of them temporarily, but it's major surgery needed in January. One thing for sure, this continuing uncertainty is no good for anyone - the manager, players, fans. It can't continue to be 'all about the manager', like some sort of soap opera. Allams f'uck.ed about with Bruce and look what happened - a disaster of a close season and what followed. Shades of same happening again. Allams need to come out and back him or sack him.
