He's never going to play a attacking formation anyway. He'll have a back four with two holding players regardlessof who is in the squad.
I just like the fact he doesn't care about the press and is a traditional football man - no noncey Wenger type talk with him. I actually think he would have got England organised and difficult to beat which would have been an improvement. He's good at what he does. Rescuing small teams in need
Ultimately I watch football to be entertained. I couldn't stand watching my team if Allardyce was in charge
He's a cocky man who thinks he is better than he is. Didn't he say he could manage Real Madrid or win everything on their budget. He is a bribe taking d!ck despite being paid millions to manage England. He was making negative bus parking football before the Portuguese tw@t showed up.
He has played good football with Bolton when they had some really good players. He tends to manage teams with small budgets where ultimately you have to play defensively to get a result against teams with more money and more valuable players. He's being pragmatic in getting results with what he has at his desposal and he gets exactly that. I wouldn't want him at Liverpol but he does a good job for the right level of team. As for the bribe nonsense I'm surprised you've bought into all that. Gives advice to make best use of the rules in play - what I pay my accountant to do. I couldn't give a damn. Business is dirty.
He did say he could manage Real Madrid but I suspect a lot of people (not just managers) believe they could too. I'll never condemn someone for having confidence in themselves. That's why I won't have a dig at players that join a bigger club despite most sustains knowing they won't stand a chance of fiat team football; they've got to have self belief.
I sort of did I still hold with it too - in his Bolton days Sam was very entertaining. I don’t think he is as tactically astute as say Jose but he is definitely underrated. I still think he was hard done by in England job and was proper curious to see how that was going to unfold. Will be interesting to see how this goes. It could end in tears or could just be a match made in heaven. Sam defo has a point to prove and the toffees defo do to. Hope it all turns around game after next
I don't think he was. I think it was more a case of very low expectations. Jay Jay Okacha helped massively too.
Loved watching okacha - great player I suppose it depends your idea of entertainment. As good as they clearly are I personally don’t like watching Peps sides. As I find his passing style boring. Tbf us in our pomp was not boring but not entertaining as we passed sides to death using the goalie (conspiracy alert - clearly that’s why the rule was altered ) Sam used to have sides involved in very entertaining games - prob down to low quality Like when you get a cracking cup tie between a lower league side and a top side
Yup. The club model at the time was similar to Swansea today. Find some old fella and throw money at thrm forgone last contract. Ivan campo Anelka given his second chance there Djorkaeff. Okacha was got on a free cos he was so injury prone Diouf.. the scumbag Plus we should remember that Bolton actual record was promotion, two struggles to stsy up then credible 4 years as top half then they went back to struggling a bit before finally joining down. Allardyce record was to bring them up, survive and get to top half on that model. It mirrors Swansea city in some regards tbh.
I loved watching Pep's Barca team but can understand the voting claim too. I just really appreciated the skill and ability on site to be able to keep the ball how they did. Man City are similar but obviously not yet as good. I like watching them but not so keen on them winning every game
See I prefer watching us - I think it’s the whole rock and roll football thing Someone made me laugh other day saying they watch between fingers - I love that Some of our games are amazing From a neutral the Sevilla game must have been entertaining - and when you watch a game of ours it does not matter how many we score you know there is always a chance that we could implode. I know we have hade some boring games but generally under Klopp that’s how we are. I think I appreciate lack of skill I love a good howler (when not us) I really hate saying this but I prefer watching spurs when on form more than city even Utd when handbrake off. I appreciate Peps teams just don’t find it entertaining It was like my opinion of Jacko - could see he was talented but just didn’t care for his music
I love watching us too, more so than that Barca side I mentioned. I've argued a few times that our **** defence makes for better entertainment. Is much rather win a game 6-5 or have a 3-3 draw than watch a boring 1-0 or 0-0 respectively. I think winning comfortably every week would be boring. However, since I've not yet experienced such thing (not many fans do) I can't really compare. I've gone on record a few times saying I much preferred the Suarez season to the Houllier treble. The football was very exciting and entertaining in the former, the latter won trophies but it was boring as hell, so much so that I didn't watch a lot of the league games that season.
Crooks criticises Klopp after handshake row It’s not like Garth Crooks to go completely over the top. He picks Roberto Firmino and Philippe Coutinho in his Team of the Week - but spends most of his time criticising Jurgen Klopp for failing to shake Chris Hughton’s hand (for the record, Klopp did try). please log in to view this image Crooks then goes off on a tangent about money and how it has ruined the game.. Erm, Garth? He writes: “However, losing 5-1 is no fun, especially when Reds manager Jurgen Klopp is fist-pumping every goal and celebrating with his staff like it’s the final of the Champions League. I understand the importance of winning, but this was Brighton. What I do take exception to is any manager being kept waiting to shake hands once a game has finished, while his opposite number finishes hugging and kissing his players and staff in celebration of their victory. I sense this was exactly what happened after the final whistle, and why Chris Hughton tore a strip off Klopp immediately after the game and quite rightly. “What is happening to the traditions of this great game? Has winning and money destroyed everything we hold dear? The convention is we shake hands immediately after a game because it brings closure to the occasion, and it starts with the managers. The game’s conventions are bigger than any manager or player, and if either can’t be bothered to perform the duty, I suggest they find another profession that can afford their bad manners. http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/spor...s/liverpool-news-transfers-live-reds-13989878
Saw this and just laughed to be honest. What the **** has this little outburst got to do with Firmino's performance, which he literally doesn't even touch on
