Baldock is someone I would take a punt on, but MK Dons want about £1.5m to £2m for him. Ryan Lowe is 32, has never played above the 3rd Division and the only club to bid for him this summer has been non-league Stockport (as far as I'm aware anyway). Adam Le Fondre is unproven above the 4th Division, and it's a hell of a risk if we can only afford one striker.
I agree on Baldock. City could offer 500k plus 2 kids on season long loans with add-ons etc etc. But worth a punt. i remember Ian Rush moved from lowly Chester to Liverpool and the rest is history. If you dont give these lads a chance you never know. Hence why add on deals are better. Pay on there success. I would have gone for MAIERHOFFER, but it looks like that ship has now sailed. Yes, Ewbanks-Blake would be good and would enjoy having Brady and Stewart on the wings swinging over those crosses.
I expect him to be Leicester's next signing, probably at about £4m, so I don't think he's going to be an option.
way overpriced. more waisted cash by Sven if thats true. very surprised and shows how desperate they are. but having missed out on Machail-Smith, Long, Maynard, Beckford.
He isn't!! The only one mentioned in the original list who could do a job and is at least slightly realistic would be Nathan Delfouneso. But again, I'm not sure Villa would be willing to let him go out on loan. Another young Villa striker who could be available however.... http://www.avfc.co.uk/page/PlayerProfiles/0,,10265~48298,00.html
I wish somebody could explain what they know about Le Fondre that I don't. Have the people calling for him to be signed ever seen him play (I mean other than for a few seconds each week on the Football League show)? The guy has never been out of the bottom division why does that indicate he can cut the mustard 2 leagues higher?
I get the feeling that if one of our rivals snapped up Le Fondre he'd be great, but if we signed him it'd go tits-up and he'd never score again.
