Coutinho played well but him being selfish can cost us when he opts for a pop rather than passing to a player in a better position. Solanke's recent appearances tell me Klopp hasn't seen anything of note from Sturridge and I think he's gone come next summer. Notable mentions today: Mignolet - pulled off a few good saves. Lovren - did well considering he had two midfielders next to him. Salah - always a threat, exposes gaps and drags players away from others to create space. Coutinho - really was comfortable on the ball today and went past players with ease. Firmino - very good pressing, leading from the front forces the rest of the team to press too (ala Suarez).
I agree - certainly helped having more support around him. I thought Can showed leadership qualities as well, was constantly talking to Trent.
I do agree that we’ve been quite lucky recently - we have conceded some really good chances which haven’t been punished, whilst we’ve been clinical at the other end. Let’s hope it continues.
Didn't catch the second half as we were on our way to Cardiff to see John Bishop live. He was bloody fantastic by the way! I saw the result on Twitter though. I'm made up!
Thought it was funny how the likes of Coutinho ignored passing to Hendo. On a side note, Hendo and Milner are really done at this club.
Said it before but if staying Can should be given armband. Can has done that since literally game one. Can’t even remember who it was but it was someone like Carra - one of our senior players that he was tearing into. Not berating just giving very clear instruction - love to see that.
Sadly I agree now on hendo It is a massive shame as he took a while to bed in and has basically done a Lucas - vilified - had a great season - started to win a few over then had career defining injury not sure he done with club but defo should not be first name on sheet Milner a tricky one - still think he has something to offer but probably not in the system we play unless - ironically it at left back. Certainly. It more than one game per week. He is a great pro that has won things and dependant on wage is good to have around our young squad imho PS thought Robertson did well but not really challenged
look. if you are happy with 6th and that all of these guys are fine. we have imo come to rely on a few players to make the difference rather than have an 11 that's driving results. I still think we got found out v spurs and city in terms of counter attacking sides being our Achilles heel... in fact you should go further back to games like palace where he show zero sense and are all in and get done on counter even if we are leading the game buying this in will be tough
Imagine our team with a half decent defence and midfield. We would be challenging. Amazing how Klopp has us competing with essentially a quality attack and not much else.
We need to invest in referees. The pen yesterday is literally the worst decision in the history of professional sport and only the fact we scored 5 means it's quietly swept under the rug by PGMOL and the media.
You don't half talk some utter ****e. Have you already forgotten the cast iron red card that Atkinson somehow overlooked at Stoke?
