I have had enough now of Bruce, derbies and Newcastle fans views and would like to talk about the future and football, anyone interested. We play Brighton tomorrow, a cup game, one we should win but one we could easily lose. Will we play a full team and go out to win it? Do we really need to rest players after 2 games? Will we get a clue to Saturdays team? We need a win to get us back on track and start a cup run, we have players who need game time but to me it must be players who we are looking to start on Saturday. At Liverpool we played well for long periods and again on Saturday we played well and could have won. Is this the chance to get the Liverpool second half and Newcastle first half but, with a few alterations, we know there will be at least one. Lots of questions, anyone have the answers, BTW, Newcastle comments will be deleted, not interested in them.
Personally I would want Gardner in and as I have said elsewhere Colback LB. Once again I hope we go out in an attacking formation.
I think it will be one hell of a tough game for us, with Brighton off to a flying start and their first cup game at their new stadium. I would like to see us go for an out and out 4-4-2 formation with Sess in the midfield and either Wickham or Ji partenering Gyan up front.
I agree with both, Gardner was bought for a reason and needs to be in. Also agree with 4-4-2, we need a LW and in Sess we have one. Gyan up front alone is not working so look at 4-4-2. Would also like to see Bramble given a game and would go WESTWOOD O'SHEA..BROWN..BRAMBLE..ANTON(BARDO SAT) LARSSEN..CATTS..GARDNER..SESS GYAN..JI
I think its tough either way because I dont think Colback or Anton deserve to be dropped but this is what Bruce gets mega bucks for. Main think for me is getting Gardner in and accepting Gyan alone is not working. Cant see anyone saying Elmo deserves to keep his place but I can see Richardson being given LB
Im going to keep ranting on about how we need Vaughan in our 1st 11. We have a midfield goal threat in Larsson and Gardner, we have steel in Cattermole. We NEED Vaughan in to get some creativity, defence splitting passes, and calm on the ball. Not to mention he was also a pretty damn good tackler last year for Blackpool.
Team I would choose would be: ------------Westwood-------- Elmo--Anton----Brown---O'Shea Larsen--Gardner--Vaughah--Sess --------Ji----Gyan--- My reason being is elmo is a RB, plays RB for Egypt, and has never played on the RM. Just Bruce thinks he can cross :S Defence would stay the same as I feel Anton and Brown is our best pair atm. They need time to bond and get a pairing. I like these as they pass from the back. Turner and Bramble need time in the reserves, not against a team with pace and on form. Would not risk them as they will still be rusty. O'Shea as although he will be rusty, will desp need a LB. Midfield I would drop catts for a game, and try vaughan and gardner. Garnder is a bit like Catts, hard tackling and in your face (but can score). Vaughan can play that killer ball. Then we need sess on the LW. We need him settled on the LW as he is all we have atm. Finally Gyan needs the game time, looks unfit and abit overweight. Ji needs to get used to the pace etc.
I would never drop Bardsley for anyone at present, but with him being banned for this game it could be worth a try to see how Elmo performs in that position, as I don't think he is a midfielder.
The only place I'd like to see elmo is selling carpets for Allied. The guy is a pony. I would prefer to see Gyan get more match time & I would start Wickham alongside him. --------------Westwood------------- O Shea----Bramble---Anton-----Colbeck ----------------Vaughan------------- ---------Gardner------Catts--------- ---Ji-----------------------------Gyan ----------------Wickham--------------- I would give all the strikers a run out and rest a couple. That team should have enough about it.
