In today's press conference the Gaffer confirmed that Ayite and Piazon are still out. He again also cast doubt on the availability of McDonald and Ream.

Brentford are very similar to us; they score a fair few and let in a fair few. And like us have drawn the majority of home games. The respective records are -

    them 2W 6D 1L
    us 2W 6D 2L.

Goodness knows how they drew with Burton at home last weekend and of course letting the points slip away at QPR midweek won't have upped the confidence. Safe to say though, past records won't matter a jot on Saturday.

For us, Joakanovic was very clear that Button will play, so won't bang that drum. No question I'd want McDonald out there, but in some ways missing Ream could be more crucial - it would almost certainly put Sessegnon at LB rather than left wing back.

Otherwise, the front three are the usual conundrum and especially in the centre. Fonte is struggling and Kamara has shown he's okay as an impact sub but little else. The surprise package in the mix could be Jordan Graham. He's been outstanding in both the U23/U21 games in the last week and, as mentioned in the other thread, is clearly now match fit (we seem to forget that before joining us he had hardly played in the previous 14 months because of an injury).

Hope I'm wrong but being pessimistic, will assume that McDonald and Ream are indeed out and go for a starting line up of:

    ..........................Button..............
    ...Fredericks..Kalas...Odoi..Sessegnon..
    ...................Cairney...Norwood..
    .......Ojo.............Kebano.......Graham...
    ...........................Fonte....

2 dodgy keeper,s so with a few lobs and crosses it could be a high scoring game,
ultimately not going our way i am afraid.

The man in the middle today is Bobby Madley.

Quietly ensconced in the Premiership and Europe, this will be the Wakefield Warbler's second trip only into the Championship this season. The other time was a Wolves v Millwall tussle when he booked 3, one of whom saw red to boot.

We had him for the Spurs FA Cup game last season when there wasn't much ado about anything from his point of view and he kept his hands away from his pocket. Before that it was way back in November 2014; the 2-2 draw with Blackpool at home. And Bobby was decidedly more lively - booking Christensen and Parker for us, while 3 of theirs got yellow and another a red.

Thankfully it's not his older brother Andy on display today ... I think/hope!

Ah, the old 'no striker' formation. Classic.

Button; Fredericks, Kalas, Odoi, Sessegnon; Norwood, McDonald, Cairney; Ojo, Kebano, Johansen.

Edit: Any chance it's actually McDonald at CB, Odoi at LB, Johansen at CM, Sess at LW & Kebano at CF? I'd much rather see that.

Odoi probably did deserve the second yellow, not sure why we never get the benefit of referees bottling it like other teams do.

Anyway, what has happened to Kalas? Are we really so absolutely dependent on Ream that without him we cannot defend at all? I would be tempted to terminate Kalas' loan at this point and that is with the consideration that we have no depth at all.

Yeah, all a bit troublesome at the back Surly.
Yeah, all a bit troublesome at the back Surly. We seem incapable of covering for each other, which has to be down to tactics/coaching. And same old, same old at defending set pieces.

Ah well, might as well share the only highlight of a dismal day:

Went to todays game with 2 Brentford fans they were very apprehensive before kick of,
but at the end of 45min you could seel we were on the back foot.
Once again,it appeared Slavis plan B C etc is a little more than arm gesticulating.
Great gaping holes in the centre appeared time after time, and as one Bees fan said how the hell
with so many talented players do you find yourself so far down the league, answer no team tactics,
plus several of the so called players with ability just did not give a s..t,and to think we were
supposed to have offered 5m for Kallas, when at the time of his loan, Tarkowski was not worth 3 ?
We will be lucky to get into the top half this season,it will definitely requires a complete overhaul
comes may and for me on this current performances the inevitable clear out should include
    a new manager/coach

To quote SJ after the game 'I play with fake striker' in Johansen
I think we play with a 'fake defence' as well
I'm still convinced that Jokanovic doesn't take into account how other teams play and adjust his tactics.

Today the Brentford coach said he targeted our full backs because he knew they went forward and left gaps behind.

Didn't take our early chances and paid the price for Button letting in a soft equaliser.
Some has said his view was blocked by an offside player.
