Still haven't started watching this though I've downloaded every series. Maybe a binge-watch over Christmas...
FLT finally caved in and watched the first two series in two weeks. It becomes an addiction. It is so lovely and gentle that you just want more and more of it. And that theme tune is gorgeous. I shall be so pissed off when they stop forever, and Mackenzie Crook says that this 3rd series will be the last.
Any advice on where to get a kids suit from in town? Only going to wear it once so obviously don't want to spend stupid amounts.
Have you tried H & M? I'd advice Marks and Spencer but if it's only going to once then they'll be too expensive. Depends on budget really.
Went to h and m today. Very limited selection, had a lot of separate trousers and jackets. Only full suit they had was navy blue which firstly wasn't very nice but also I want him to a grey one cos that's what colour I'll be wearing. Want me and my boy turning up to the wedding together in matching suits looking dapper as ****
programme that makes you feel all warm inside. The sign of a good comedy is when the minor characters are also well defined....hardly hear from them, then they get a great line.
The lovely habit that Robins have hanging about the gardener, comes from their natural habit of following Wild Boar in the wild, who really turn over the earth and rotten wood revealing the worms and grubs. We (although they are making a come back) simply act as a replacement which triggers their evolutionary behaviour to follow a digging mammal. I do like a Robin. Just thought I'd share that!
Don't like the recent taste for reintroducing animals that are long gone from the British isles....like wild boar and beavers. Our wildlife has been balanced for hundreds of years,,,,don't mind the restocking with indigenous animals that are struggling recently, but not reintroduction of long gone animals that now no longer have predators. Wild boar are a dangerous nuisance and need serious culling not protecting. And don't even get me started on the idea of introducing wolves and big cats into Scotland. The mass killing of sheep by that escaped lynx should serve as a warning. I love the fact that people object to the idea of hunting with dogs, but are willing to let large carnivores loose on deer and sheep. Wolves and big cats are proposed as a means of culling excess deer....just as long as they understand the difference between those and sheep and realise that they aren't supposed to leave the highlands. It would be understandable if we were the only habitat possible for an animal facing extinction, but that isn't the case.
Watching Stranger things on Netflix, it's good... but there are sooooo many cliches I can't help but feel a bit underwhelmed. Each episode is littered with them. 4/5.
Just seen a huge rat in our garden. Eating the chicken feed We're probably going to visit Flores and Komodo during our next Indonesia trip May/June next year, they have some bigguns there and a dragon or two. That's the baby you should see the mother! please log in to view this image
On the contrary, there is an argument to say that our wildlife isn't balanced as we are missing keystone species (predators mostly) which are essential for the healthy balance of most if not all ecosystems. Deer (as mentioned) have no predators in this country now, and do cause damage in some protected areas. I think there are strong arguments to introduce some apex predators, as it has long term benefits to ecological systems. Depends how bothered/interested you are. Obviously this is more popular with people wanting to increase the biodiversity of our natural habitats. Research on Beaver reintroduction is positive. They can help reduce flooding in certain areas. I think Wolves are possibly a step too far, but Lynx in the right areas (they prefer woodland) is viable if carefully planned. I think reintroduced wild Lynx would not necessarily act like an escaped Lynx, who must of felt like a kid in a sweet shop, and this doesn't sound like 'natural behaviour' from an escaped animal. Anyhow, you can tell what my persuasion is. For those interested, here is a link. http://www.rewildingbritain.org.uk/rewilding/reintroductions/
It's just a filigree Siberian hamster.! You're having to be of a certain age group to get that one these days.
I found evidence that a rat was in our garage. My wife put out some sachets of poison, Big Cheese I think and the rats duly took them away. We then put out some more which the rats also took. This seemed to be enough because the third sachet we left went untouched. After the second time, I wrote out a tiny card from the rats saying thanks very much, and although they appreciated the gifts, they tasted a bit funny and could she leave something else instead. My wife actually felt guilty
Last Friday morning I pulled up in the service road between Wynham Court [the concrete ediface] and the Mayflower theatre, to do a flooring job. I happened to glance right at a few bins and a monster grey rat ambled by seemingly without a care in the world. It looked very healthy indeed.
