It will be interesting to see how forest line up when they visit CCS. I guess we’ll have our backs to the wall the full 90.
Another team robbed..... Farke the latest in what is becoming a repetitive story...... "Totally frustrating. I think it was a brilliant performance from my lads, we faced a side who had won their last three games in a row, scored a beautiful goal and had two or three chances to score another time. I think it was obvious what happened in the second half and what was the reason for the loss. There was a penalty situation in the 47th minute but nobody can tell me where there was a foul. I wouldn’t expect a foul for us but 100 per cent not a penalty and it changed the game. Second chance for them, they hit the crossbar and it wasn’t a free-kick. You could easily ask the fourth official what he thought of the referee’s performance. He said to me. I don’t want to be fined but for me it’s hard to accept. No, I wont be speaking to the referee. What should I ask him? Daniel Farke
I don't understand this sort of comment. Fine if you lose by the odd goal and it was suspect but they were done by two and a penalty miss on top and hitting the bar. I suppose the manager has to say something positive about his own team to keep up morale but there's no need to try and make fake news about the opposition. In the end, even footballers understand hen they've been stuffed and when they've been robbed and this does not help. Surely better to say something like "we've missed our chances and could have got more out of the game and now it's on to the next one".
In fairness they regularly cut us apart through the middle and Manga had a game best forgotten. If they had a decent striker the result could have been very different. Had ex Jack Oliveira passed to Hoolahan at the end if the first half and not gone on his own we could have been 2 down and facing a real up hill battle. However all if bits and maybe. Colin's half time subs gave us more control and intensity and we were thankfully much better second half. Seems like sour grapes is on the menu at the managerial table at most clubs we play.
Perhaps he should blame Hanley for missing a golden chance and Olivera for not passing to Hoolahan rather than the ref for 3 decisions which made no difference to the final score. Or ideally man up and concede our defending, finishing and substitution decisions were superior and the real reasons why his team lost.
Colin showed his experience as a manager. Saw things needed changing and had the balls to make the changes. Big thing for me is the squad. How many games this season have been changed by what has come off the bench. Ok, ward got the sheppards crook tonight but hes also won games off the bench. Tomlin hasn't had much game time but has made a difference. Wherever we finish at the end of the season it will have been a team effort. Credit to the management and credit to the players. Great to once again say the bench made the difference. Which whinging manager is next ? (Ok. That's a Cardiff supporters view, now an opposition managers view. How lucky can one team be and how consistently biased can refs be toward that one club? The way things are going they'll be so lucky they'll get promoted. And we played all the football - when they let us. Never mind that they scored more goals than us. That's not the point. This game is so unfair. 7 times that Warnock has had really luck teams that have been promoted and I get teams to play really pretty football and despite deserving to be promoted never have. It's so unfair.!!!!)
"It's my ball and if you don't let me win I won't play with you." They are becoming so childish. From memory Holloway is the only manager with the balls to say that the better team won. Credit to him. The danger with all of these whinging managers is that some refs might actually take notice of them. At least no accusations of time wasting last night.
Colin is wise to it. He just plays it with a straight bat. I think he said after Saturday's game that they had the watch on their keeper and he was taking even longer. Not sure they did have the watch on him but the game was played back. If they aren't careful the opposition will play straight into our hands. They'll spend so much time complaining they'll be put off their own game without us doing anything. Mind games. And there will only be one winner.
Aye - they had 70% of the possession and obviously didn't know what to do with the ball when they had it. McCarthy must be another Warnock. With all that possession, Forest must have been doing the time wasting themselves..........
Warnocks style has always been to ruffle feathers and whether you want to admit it or not, he sets his teams up, including you to be physical, time waste and get under the skins of the opposition. Give him his dues he does it better than any other manager I can think of, but don't kid yourselves he doesn't do it. This style may well end up getting you to the promised land this season, but it will be a short stop if you stick with Warnock and this style.
Nobody's kidding themselves across here - he's doing a job and a mighty fine one at that. Getting under the skins of the opposition is all part of the game and bloody good management. What pisses off everyone over here is the moaning and whinging by other managers about it because the opposition sides can't handle defeat. The refs are always biased towards Cardiff and they were unfairly treated. If you bother to listen to Farke's post match interview after our Friday smashing of his Norwich side in the second half, you'll understand what we mean - and he hasn't been the first to stoop to that level either.
As you say it's good management, other managers have to learn that you cannot play beautiful football against every team, there will always be the Pulis, Allardyce and Warnocks of the world who want to stop that, you have to get around it.
There's "beautiful football" and there's "effective football" - you don't see much of the former in the Championship and only the latter will get you out of it. I and probably most on here accept that and will take it with open arms. If others can't take it, then tough - let them carry on whinging.
But Supcon, yo are probably right but that argument does not get around the fact that we don't win by the odd goal in three, where the buggering about might be enough to make a difference. We're winning by two clear goals in general...and with a lot to spare, including many missed chances..... especially in these matches where we have got the most criticism.... the free-playing, beautiful football teams- who fail to score!!!! I'm no football genius, but it seems there is more to our man than that.
Oops... crossed with OS there. What you doing up so early on a Sunday, Sparkey? Wet the bed? I know the feeling...... can't lie around in one's own mess and it all goes cold too!!!
No didn't wet the bed this morning Furter - had to get up to update the cashouts for Remote...........
