    Anyone else watching? Anyone care?

England holding their own for now. I’ve backed them with a 17.5 handicap.

I thought so at 2.24 (5/4 in old money).

Saying that I didn’t know it was an Australian ref. How can that be right?

Good, tight game so far, with the Aussies on top at HT. Pretty brutal - far more entertaining than that Union ****e

No idea what’s going on but it’s very entertaining. England players taking hits that would put Jordan Cousins out for months.

I feel sore just watching some of those tackles ! Still very close, Aussies looking a bit desperate in defence, holding a slender lead

Haven’t looked but it won by a mile. Pays for my future losses on today’s football.

I'm the complete opposite and find Union far more absorbing.

I'm no expert on rugby league, but it appeared to me that England made poor decisions every time they were within striking distance of the Aussie line, especially right at the death, stupidly kicking through with 4 tackles left. The Aussies were just too good, as they always are in League as far as I can remember.

I like both codes, but they're very different games these days. England made many more mistakes than Australia, and in the end, I think that's why they didn't get their just desserts for a brave performance.

I thought the final pass for the try score was slightly forward, myself. It's something I've been noticing more and more by Australia - in both codes. They're really pushing the limit on the fine line between a forward pass and a pass with permitted "momentum". In many of their sets, the pass out of the third tackle was short and had momentum. Almost like it was a deliberate strategy.
