Ha ha, as Botham once said, 'You used to have to have a criminal conviction to get into Australia'. <laugh>

Its incredible though that convicted killers from Europe have come into Britain and committed murder whilst here under the free passage of people bollox (buts that another story).

Suggestion is that Mark Wood is fit and will bowl in a tour match this week for the Lions. Should he come through that then he is a no brainer for Perth. Quick, hostile and in your face. I know his skiddy action is not normally what you look for out there but I think his pace alone would be useful.

I like Wood, we could do a lot worse than play him.

The Second Test starts on Saturday, we mustn't lose this one. If we do, they've got one hand on the urn.

Will Bairstow's novel method of greeting people - the Bairstow Brow - take off? :emoticon-0181-fubar

2nd Test, Adelaide. England won the toss and chose to bowl. Overton replaces Ball. Australia are currently 38-1. This is the inaugural day-night Ashes Test.

Overton decent for his 2 overs so far but it's going to be hard work getting wickets with an ageing Kookaburra ball. Only wicket so far has been from running mix up by the Aussies. Not sure about the decision to bowl first.

Unless the conditions or the pitch favour bowling first, I've always considered it a lack of confidence in your own team to put the opposition into bat.

Aussies beat England 6-0 in the final of the rugby league Word Cup. What a brutal game, did anyone watch it?

Australia 181-4, England have got to take this opportunity and get them out cheaply.

Yep, been watching. Cracking game. We may have lost but that was a brilliant performance by us and against an excellent Oz team. If only the England football team showed the same effort.

Both teams were superb, tough and skilful. Hard, hard bastards, the lot of them.
