Sounds like Roland is openly ready to sell up and leave. It all suggests that discussions and even Due Diligence may well have been taking place. Which suggests Airman Brown may well have been right all along?
It depends on your definition of 'right' I suppose. In one way or another Rick has been telling disillusioned and disheartened Charlton fans what they wanted and hoped to hear for quite a while now. Eventually he was going to be right. Despite my little "December is imminent" dig (a cheap shot I know, but I couldn't resist it) I have said in the past that I have nothing against RE at all, and I was flattered when my views - and indeed my DNA - were compared with his by an apologist on ITTV. I prefer to believe that for all his faults Rick Everitt has done far more good than harm for our Club over the years, and I prefer to believe that his motives are not primarily self-serving. The number of posts which fly around makes it very difficult to untangle the details of who said what and when. But it's not difficult to work out that if RE continues to say more or less the same thing about a take-over for long enough, events are going to make him right. And this is something I am very pleased about. So many of us have wanted RD gone for so long, I don't mind who breaks the news first or who claims they were in the know about it. We will all benefit, and when it happens there should be plenty of relief and happiness to go around - at least in the short term.
Neither do we need to 'trust in Everitt'. He's not the messiah. Just another fan. Good and bad like most of us. But the attacks seem pointless now. This petty infighting has in my opinion, been rendered pointless by RD coming out of the closet as a seller. Personally I want nothing to do with this squabbling. It sounds like the days of RD may be over. Attacking another fan who wants them out is daft. And a lot of the accusations about his recent behaviour no longer hold water. Enough infighting.
What I object to is people panning the fella whilst blowing hot air, sitting on their bottoms and doing nothing.

I don't tear anyone to pieces, but Rick predicted the Aussie take-over months and months ago, it didn't happen, so I wasn't going to be swept along this time. I have also been fooled by the predictions of The Flying Monk and Dear Old Ponders, so as far as I'm concerned all this ITK stuff, whoever it's from, is meaningless. Why do they do it?There are other culprits too, but people pay more attention to Rick than anyone else, so it takes more of an effort not to get caught up in the euphoria.
