Stokes is a massive miss in the middle of our batting order. Himself, Bairstow and moeen is the strongest middle order in test cricket imo.

 

Agreed, it's called having fun, a bit of banter, win or lose . enjoy the experience

 

Since there’s already a thread here about the Cricket, what’s everyone’s opinion on Stokes.

Should he be playing or not?

For me he should be 100%

 

Innocent until proven guilty. He should be playing. We've shot ourselves in the foot. Again!

If he was an Aussie or Kiwi, he'd be playing against us!

Bairstow needs batting up the order IMO and not keep wicket. He is a decent bat

Moeen needs to kick on with the bowling and tie down an end. England have saqlain as part of training crew should be improving the spinner

Ball is a new ball bowler for his county. Won't get that for england so get someone like plunkett in just to steam in and pitch it short. England attack is too samey

Agreed on Bairstow - he's probably our third best batsman after Root and Cook so I'd have him at 5 and drop Malan, bring Foakes in to keep wicket and bat 7.

Problem with Mo is he's never been able to tie an end down, he's more a wicket taking bowler IMO because he's too easy to score off. Probably get a 4 ball off every over he bowls.

Never rated Ball ever since he came on the scene. Doesn't bring anything to the table, he's the same in ODI's too. If Wood comes through this warm up game he should be really considered but I agree Plunkett has been our 'enforcer' if you like in One Day cricket for a few years now and should've played and told to bowl as fast as he can in 4 over spells.

Root will come good in this 2nd test. He doesn't stay quiet for long.

Vince is a great bat, but he needs to do it on a consistent basis.

 

We've won the toss and chosen to bat. I'm not sure I would have done that in these conditions. It looks overcast and I'd imagine Anderson, in particular, would enjoy bowling out there.
