Ive read a lot of rubbish on this board but we have to look at it honestly. Analysing the match itself we can conclude a number of things

    1) Richardson is NOT a Left Back. However, once O'Shea is back, Bardo to Left Back and Turner/Bramble back to partner Brown we should be ok.

    2) We miss Meyler - Cattermole doesnt do it for me im afraid, would still play him for now but we defo need a better CM

    3) We need a quality, tall Striker. Dare I say we missed KJ's presence yesterday? Peter Crouch would be a good signing

    4) Mignolet is young, but still a very good keep IMO - keep him in the team

    5) Gyan's not a leading striker, however clearly has a lot of quality and paired with the right partner would be excellent

    6) WE NEED A LEFT F****** WINGER

    7) Sessegnon was the only quality player on that pitch on Saturday

Ok so that's us sorted but looking at the match we can draw a few conclusions on the result

    1) If it wasn't a derby we would have won - I.e. The mags closed us down well and our build up play was too slow on the ball. Had we been crisper and have more time on the ball (as we will see in other matches this year) we would have comfortably won.

    2) Newcastle's defence is actually quite good - Shamed to say it, but theres a reason Hair Bear T*** is the No. 1 player on fantasy football atm. They're solid and restricted us to few chances

    3) We will 100% finish above them this season - however currently we have no chance at their place.

    4) Now that Ameobi didn't score against us surely he'll be sold as he is without doubt the most talentless football player in the PL.

    5) Did anyone notice the mags complete lack of footballing ability from open play? They rolled around like nancies (no shock I know) and played for the free-kicks. In hindsight a good move, but lets be honest, they were pretty awful. - They need a lot of work if they dont want to go backwards.

Basically what Im saying is, well done to the mags this time. They stuck to a plan and I think a draw would have been a fair result (which is saying something coming from me!). However, we must not lose faith, we will gel and we have a lot of news players coming into the side (i.e. Vaughan, O'Shea, Gardner etc). We will still have a good season, but we have to up our tempo when we play the mags- if we don't we'll just keep losing/drawing

I agree with some of your points, especially the one regarding the mags rolling about like nancies..

Cabaye got what he deserved, it was wrong but not as bad as Bardsley.

Anyway, my comment was in reference to our players just rolling round.

i agree with most of your points, however I would put Westwood in and not Mignolet because while he will be a brilliant keeper later on, he is still too young.

TBH Mignolet was sh**e on Saturday.

Also agree about left winger, we need a bloody winger. Its doing my head in that we don't have a f**king winger. Any winger, theres probably plenty of good ones in the champ. Someone with a left foot!

Sess and Catts were our best players.

Mingolet as someone already said was ****e.

Tiote was anonymous for 89 minutes.

Collo was amazing for them. We were never going to make the breakthrough with constant hoofball when he was in their defence.

Agreed, first half Cattermole was very tidy. Dont forget 2nd half against Liverpool. If he could get his game together for 90minutes and not act like a twat when things arent going our way, wed be sorted.

IIRC Kieran Richardson is a left winger. He played and scored 2 goals for England in one game ....... as a left winger, he played and scored for Man United ........ as a left winger, he played and scored for West Brom, helping to keep them in the Premier League, ....... as a left winger.

Richardson gets a lot of stick for not being a defender - which he isn't, but it is obvious that he does not really want to play left back. I think he deserves some credit for not moaning about being played out of position and just getting on with it.

I am pretty sure he prefers to play off the main striker (see his 2 goals against Blackpool first game after £ent left), however Sess is doing well there so his next preference would be left side of midfield. In fact it is likely as frustrating for him as for us when he sees right footed players continuously played there. Bruce obviously rates him, so I am hoping he gives Richardson a chance to play LW once O'Shea is fit, especially if no one else is brought in.

Thought O'Shea was a LB/CB not a RB/CB could be wrong mind, plus what do we do while Bardo is suspended play Elmo there? We all keep going on about a LB myself included for the last 3 seasons now and we hear the same old crap that there are none available. So why not buy a decent RB and let Bardo play LB not ideal in my opinion as he will get sussed eventually but, should be okay ish until we find a good LB.

Thought it was a good article until I read this. You're too thick to learn your lesson about making bold claims which could bite you in the arse.

    What an absolute muppet.

Cattermole had another impressive game. In the 2nd half, he and Bardsley were the only players we had demonstrating true desire, grit and passion while we got pushed. shunted and bullied off the ball - this is the EPL FFS, so how are we going to cope at Stoke this year?!?

Interesting to hear all your thoughts on Catts. I am still uncertain I have to say, but I can see what your saying - personally think Colback was more noticeable but maybe I missed something.

Chappaz, you just watch mate - its not a bold claim, its a simple fact that a) we have WAY more creativity from open play b) Your defence won't stay this good forever and c) we have a lot more spending power to improve your squad (largely based on the owners admitedly). I would happily bet you 100 quid we'll finish above u

Ming is poor, he just does not command his area and his positioning is poor. Catts is good when he keeps his rag under control but gives away far to many free kicks, wouls like to see Sess and Colback given a go with two strikers.

Newcastle defense impressed me, well the CB pairing is strong, full backs not so much, but I think we will finish above them especially with Barton moving to a more ambitious club in QPR. lol. We are going to struggle for goals without a new striker but they are in an even worse position upfront.
