Hopefully, this will lift spirits? Another Chris Cowlin video report, it's mainly to report on the installation of the walkway between Lillywhite House and the stadium but at 5:41 he shows that work on the roof has started at the North-West corner. Given that a large amount of the cabled the roof supports are waiting inside the stadium, maybe there's room for optimism on where we are regarding deadlines.......

On saturday, I saw three 'quarter circle' sheets of material on the
north section. As I cannot say if that is facade stuff for the roof
proper, or being used as some kind of support for workers to
do other things, I did not mention it.

There's been a lot of late night concrete slab pouring this week. Half of the area behind the South Stand has been done and the pitch area is progressing well in the North and now covering about 70% of that half of the stadium. I'm looking forward to seeing the retractable pitch mechanisms going in. That has to be the most incredible part of the whole build and something that I'd dearly love to see in operation to the Thunderbirds music.

Some branches have been added to one of the trees and lots of glazing has gone into to the executive boxes.

    Nearly done, really.

Having sat in row ZZ at Old Toilet, that comment is a bit rich. Even Tom Huddlestone looked like a tiny subbuteo player.

Diego lives in Indonesia and wears a fake replica shirt with 'Beckham' on the back.

Pretty sure that's just the perspective. The stands are supposed to be close to the pitch, according to the plans.
A big gap like Wembley or the Lolympic Stadium would be horrible.

I am sure of that too.
It does look like a massive stand from up there though <ok>

My wife does a bit of photography on the side and she just walked past and commented 'The pitch'll look closer when the roof's up'.

Now, communication has never been my strong suit, but I think it's just a matter of perspective. With the open sky above massive stands, the pitch is totally dwarfed. Once it's all enclosed I doubt it'll be any worse than some of the views at OT, The Library, Etihad or any other large all-seater in the country.

It is a massive stand. 17,500 capacity, single-tier South Stand. About half the total of the old ground, all behind one goal.
We really need to work on that to help with the inevitable atmosphere issues when we first move in.
Take some tips and ideas from Dortmund.

Pretty sure the picture in question was taken from the North stand PNP.

Don't feel bad about it. I've been salivating over pictures of the new lass since full time on tuesday. Only thing keeping me going at the moment. I probably know the serial number of every fixture in the stands by now.

I'm main-lining the video feed that I took the piss out of less than a week ago. They're doing the measurements for the movable pitch rails in the North-East corner right now and pouring more concrete in the South Stand. Riveting.............probably in the West Stand.
