Just wanted to talk about TP and the amount of players he wants to sign. 3 weeks ago Pulis was talking to TalkSport and was quoted saying " Im looking to freshen things up, realisticly we need around 5 or 6 quality players to come in and add extra competition to the squad " Now last week he was quoted in the sentinal saying " We need to add players, and im looking at 4 or 5 players coming in " And finaly today he is quoted in The Sun newspaper saying " We've done remarkably well over the last four years but we have to improve. We need more quality and I am looking to bring in three or four " Now im no mathematician but the numbers are most definitely going down. What is going through Pulis head !! We need all the numbers we can get. It does however lead me to believe that possible targets are not intrested in joining the club, and because of that Pulis numbers are being reduced. We need 6 players in my opinion : 2 CM, 2 Strikers, 1 Winger and an Attaking Fullback.
I thoght the plan was to play centre backs in every position. That way the whole team is interchangeable.
I think he was playing BINGO in split, when he was there he wanted 6 numbers, Home game only wanted 5 for a full house, then Chelsea at home he wanted 4, still didnt shout BINGO so rested his hopes on Norwich away, but still no full house, he is now down to 3. C'MON numbers 8, 27 & 83
I'll be honest, I dont think he hast the foggiest of who we will bring in. I'm sure he has many irons in the fire (for which some will be good and some will be dross), but feel he is just flying by the seat of his pants with no clear direction!
Seriously, I think thats why we have such extremes of good players, absolute dross and players out of position! Instead of earmarking certain positions like RB, CM, CF and wing cover and sticking to those positions or type of players, he (or the club) get giddy when a player becomes available and sign him anyway i.e. 2 x CB! As good as they are, we didnt need 2 andf we didnt need to move Huty to RB to make room for them.
