It’s not hard to judge a ball from distance l, it is in the blink of an eye, ball coming at pace and lifting it over a defender and under bar. Was brilliant tekkers, if those goals were easy there’d be one most weeks!
Premier league pro footballers. Seen it attempted so many times and very rarely scored so not exactly sure how anyone could say it's over-=rated or easy for them. Seen it attempted after a touch as well and most times player get the "spin" on the ball wrong and it curls wide or get the height wrong. Beckham, Rooney how many others have we seen successfully do it?
As in the past he will get the best out of the players he has only this time they include some very good footballers. As I posted previously I wouldn't be surprised at them finishing in a European spot. They will certainly be a premiership team next season though More importantly where will we be next season. I 'm not predicting in case I jinx it as I'm feeling (too ?) positive
Even Beckhams was a bit easier as he had time to take a touch and look up. Mind I’ve seen a video of one of these from a foreign league where the lad hits its first time full on the volley it’s incredible, if I can find I’ll post.
Done it many a time! I prefer this one. A quick glance to see the keeper off his line, delicate chip!
I will agree that Rooney has scored better goals mind, I just absolutely say it takes a massive skill, massive judgement to score that goal last night.
Agreed. And a bit of moxie, although being 2-0 up against a dire West Ham, and after scoring the other 2, he would have had the confidence to ping it. I suppose I just prefer to see the keeper brilliantly beaten whilst hes standing between the sticks.
The volley v the Mags is his best for me, the fact he’s arguing with ref then sees the ball dropping, controls his anger and gives it all to the ball. What a ****ing strike that one was.
It's far easier to score from the halfway line into an open goal than it is to beat a keeper from the edge of the box. Yeah it was good technique, but on his wages you'd expect him to pop it in.
I don't know, he put a lot of top spin on it. It's technically a very good goal. Certainly harder than Beckham's who had a ball which was sat up rolling away from him. I think I'd have more chance of hitting Beckhams than hitting Rooneys.
I'd be taking Rooney's on out of them two. That's just personal preference, I think though. Not sure I'd be able to have the power to more or less just stand there and smash it in like Beckham. I'd back myself running onto the ball like Rooney, though. Straight stiff foot and hit straight through it with your laces.
Busy tomorrow fella, doc appointment and then my lass is going away early evening so will be having an early dinner with her.
